Talk to your advisor before choosing a class. Read reviews online about the teachers and instructors. Do your assignments promptly. Study with a group. Do not procrastinate. Participate in class, this is how you learn best. Make new friends.

If you are planning to attend college for a short term degree, a transfer degree, or just to learn something new, this is the school for you. They are affordable and the teachers are good. There is a lot of paperwork involved in getting into this school and even more if you will be signing up for financial aid. So you will need help. Get another student to help you or talk to a counselor. Go to the workshops they provide for you and don't be afraid to ask questions. Make use of the online website to browse through and see the wide variety of classes they offer. Only bad thing is, sometimes parking sucks and the school is pretty big so sometimes it's a bit of a walk (hopefully u don't have to walk uphill) to get to your different classes. AND best advice i can give you is: ALWAYS sign up for classes early and try to get them all in two or three days right after the other and make sure they are on the same avoid going back and forth from campus to campus for different classes. waste of gas and time and u may end up being late having to take the time to find parking or if you get stuck in traffic (which is the majority of the time in Charlotte). Good luck to you!
