Categories Comments Great for these types of students Good idea for students who want to stay close to home, are not sure what major they wish to choose, and/or trying to save money.
Bang for the buck Chesapeake is not very expensive, and includes oppurtunities on campus for academic success, and learning/improving life skills.
What to do for fun SGA hosts numerous events on and off campus from moon bounces, mini-golf, movie night, and trip to NYC.
Food and Dining Food is average and on the expensive side. Myself, along with other students tend to pack a lunch, as there are two microwaves for use. There is also a Subway across the highway that students will go to for lunch.
Dorm Life There are no dorms.
Academic Rigor Not extremely instense, as I can still skate by in most classes, but there is a fair amount of work. It varies depending on your professors. Be prepared for occassional large projects.
Tips for prospective students Do not underestimate Chesapeake because it is a community college. Go in with an open mind, work hard, and do not be afraid to ask for help.
In three sentences Small campus with many oppoutunities for success. Most professors will take time to get to know you. Excellent transfer advisors to prepare you for transferring to a four-year school.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you are an athlete and want to go somewhere where they take their sports seriously, this is the place. We work hard, travel a lot, but still have fun. The teams are family.
What to do for fun Fun is what you make it. I don't have a lot of time for entertainment since I have classes and lots of practice for my sport. But there is shopping, movies, restuarants, nearby and of course parties that you create:)
Food and Dining Since there are no dorms, I live in off-campus housing and am responsible for my own food and dining. Easton is about 15 minutes away and there are tons of restuarants etc...
Dorm Life I live in off campus housing as an athlete, there are no dorms.
Academic Rigor Some of the classes are difficult but that's to be expected, it is college. The classroom size is nice, not big.
Tips for prospective students Be prepared to be out in the middle of nowhere. There aren't a whole lot of things to do, so if you can't make friends and entertain yourself, this is not the place for you. As an athlete, I stay very busy so it's a little bit different.
In three sentences I rate Chesapeake College as a B+. I love the open area, small campus feel: It's a great JUCO especially for people coming from a small high school, plenty of opportunity to adjust to college life and for athletes they have a great sports program.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are always the guards riding around on golf carts. I've never seen or heard anything that made me feel threatened.
Great for these types of students Great for students returning to school after a while. Most of my classes are about 50 50 on right out highschool students, and returning students.
Bang for the buck It's cheap which is good but sometimes you get what you pay for with certain teachers.
What to do for fun Um basically nothing.
Food and Dining Food is delicious. A little on the pricy side but for the amount you get and the quality it's worth it. Plus the cafeteria workers are super nice.
Dorm Life There aren't dorms.
Academic Rigor Some classes are harder than others but most aren't that challenging.
Tips for prospective students Get a rain jacket, it's always raining. Get to the school twenty minutes, at least, before your class starts to try and find a parking spot.
In three sentences Chesapeake is a good school for anyone looking to transfer or get their Associates. In some classes the level of skill needed is a little ridiculously low for my liking. The atmosphere is pretty friendly and it's not a big school.

Greek Life PTK is the Honor Society for 2-year colleges. They are very active.
Clubs and Activities There is ALWAYS something going on.
Great for these types of students Chesapeake College is great for everyone!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I don't know about any traditions.
Bang for the buck It is reasonably priced for a college but the textbooks are expensive as all get-out.
What to do for fun There are tons of clubs and events that happen all semester long! Concerts, movies, cartoon days, holidays (Halloween, Easter, Pirate Day).
Food and Dining The food has a tendency to be greasy and over priced, but the staff is wonderful!
Dorm Life Well, if we actually had dorms, I'm sure they would be at the same caliber at the classrooms and offices.
Academic Rigor Chesapeake College is a great stepping stone. It will help transition you from high school to college level work in no time.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you keep up on your work and try not to fall behind. Some teachers are forgiving, while others will fail you. Make friends and get involved. It looks really good on a transcript and it helps the staff get to know you better.
In three sentences Chesapeake College is a small, close-knit community, 2-year college that will do almost anything to help you succeed. Helping with work-studies, free drop-in tutoring, and help for students with special needs is their goal. Categories Comments Great for these types of students Athletes, part-time students, people returning back to school, job holding people
Tips for prospective students Use your time wisely when you get to college you are going to need a lot of it. Get all the money you can before school starts. Try talking to current or former students on what the school will be like. Study, study, study and do all your work. Work ahead when possible and stay in contact with teachers.
Bang for the buck The price is reasonable but can be a little overwhelming if you aren't in a state to pay or finances take a turn for the worst. Scholarships are available for studenst they just don't offer student loans.
Am enjoying being here There isn't much to do out here, unless you play sports or have a job. The environment is perfect for school though.
Am learning a lot This college has taught me a lot of things that did not know or has taught me things that i need to do better. The most important thing is that college is nothing like high school.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This campus is great if you want to still live on your own and still receive an education without a high tuition. It is also great for all types of people with different talents. With the flexible class time ,attending Chesapeake College allows you to still maintain a family life, a job, all while bettering yourself
Tips for prospective students 1. Try dual-enrollment while in high school 2. meet with and adviser 3. plan your courses in advance. 4. Stay focus 5. Never base your teachers off of what you hear
Bang for the buck The scholarships that this school offers is great. Many people get full scholarships or close to having everything paid. Because it doesn't include room and board you are not wasting any money. All of the money that is paid is going directly to your education,
Am enjoying being here The atmosphere is wonderful. The people are friendly and all have goals. They are there by choice and not by force which makes this campus better. I formed many friendships on this campus. With the different organizations, there is something for everybody. Although, a small college, the people here have a big heart. They are always doing community service activities and helping out the local counties. In addition, I like the seminars in which are held on campus ranging from help stop smoking, to ways to study and time management.
Am learning a lot The teachers here really know how to teach different learning styles. I have taken online classes as well as regular classes. Every class. the teacher is always available by phone, email, or visit to provide extra help to us students. Most of the teachers even give you their personal home and cell numbers and allow you to call WHENEVER you have a question. In addition, the quality of the learning material is on a college level, and the teachers just don't let you slide. They actually grade the work and help you with your mistakes to make you a better student.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Athletic, Social, and Friendly
Bang for the buck You get a lot of education for the amount that you pay. You can pay a lot higher college bills to go away for college, but you still get the exact same information, and you do not have to pay for room and board.
Am enjoying being here Everybody who attends this school is very friendly. They are all willing to help if you do not understand. You can meet many new friends and form study groups if you all do not undersand something. There are plenty of places around campus that everybody could meet.
Am learning a lot Every teacher that is employed at this school is willing to sit down with each student and explain things if they do not understand. They will find research to prove their explanations are correct.
