    Campus Safety

Security is taken very serious at Chipola there are always at least 2-3 officers patrolling campus at all times.

    Bang for the buck

You get what you pay for (good meaning behind that).

    What to do for fun

Marianna doesn't have much to do but Dothan, Panama, and Tallahassee are not far away.

    Food and Dining

A nice variety of choices with plenty of space, lots of people just like to hang there.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are really nice sized and well protected. The only bit is you can't get a dorm unless you play sports or you are in the performing arts program.

    Academic Rigor

The classes are exactly what you should expect, though they are easier since the smaller amount of people. Make sure to keep up with your work and go to the ACE lab because it is easy to fall behind.

    Tips for prospective students

Talk to financial aid about scholarships. Go to the ACE lab for FREE tutoring on your classes by people have taken the class.

    In three sentences

Most classes are small, which makes it easier to connect with the teachers. Very safe and accepts everyone who goes there. They want everyone to succeed even when they leave the school.

There are so many clubs that you can join and enjoy that will get you plenty preoccupied.

    Food and Dining

The food is very delicious! You can choose your meal and can even watch them as they cook the food. The dining is like a comfort zone there are couches, booths, and even just plain tables. Therefore, whatever mood you feeling up to, you can easily eat there.

    Dorm Life

I have not been able to experience the dorm life, but I am sure it is easier to be near the college that way you can use their easy access library during library hours, of course.

    Academic Rigor

The academics there is like any other university. They provide academics for many majors and many opportunities for students.

    Tips for prospective students

I recommend to every student that struggles in classes to talk to the professor individually because they will always find time to work with you.

    In three sentences

Chipola College is an amazing college with awesome professors! The college prepares small sized high school students for when they plan to go to a school three times larger then their high school. I would definitely recommend this college to anybody.

The cost of tuition and the classes I'm not familiar with because I didn't have to pay because I'm a dual enrollment student.

    Food and Dining

The food at chipola from what I've heard it's average. I personally have never eaten at the cafeteria.

    In three sentences

Chipola is a very small college, but its convenient for me because there are so many people there that I know. The teachers there are very friendly with a sense of humor. The education there is wonderful, the way the teachers teach is in a way that anyone can comprehend it.

    Campus Safety

There are constant cops driving around campus all day long. They stay at the dorms for most of the day and night as well and keep record of all of the activity that goes on.

    Greek Life

    I have no personal experience.

    Clubs and Activities

The only activities that I know first hand are the sports because I am an athlete as well. The most fun events to attend are the men's basketball games! I know of clubs, but have no personal experience in any of them. There are also tennis courts and a pool on campus for your own personal activities.

Great for these types of students

Chipola is very welcoming to every student that attends. Any gender or race is welcomed and supplied with the help they need.

    What to do for fun

I play softball at Chipola so there really is not that much free time, but when we do get to have our own time we go to the lake, the river, bowling or to different towns; Panama City Beach, Tallahassee, or Dothan.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria offers some pretty decent food. The cafeteria building is nice! There are places to lounge around, study or just catch up with friends. The ladies and gentlemen that work there are also nice.

    Dorm Life

The washers and dryers SUCK! Other than that the dorms are pretty big for a junior college and the maintenance keeps it clean.

    Academic Rigor

The classes are fairly easy. The science classes are a bit difficult and demand study time, but the professors do work with you and offer personal tutor time. The ACE lab is also an amazing place to get help from personal tutors of all ages.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure to speak with an advisor for any and all questions. They are very helpful and point you in the right direction quite accurately.

    In three sentences

Chipola College is a small campus with classes that are easily accessed within 100 meters of each other and from the parking lot. The tests are not unfair. As long as you put in the necessary amount of study time, good grades are possible.

    Tips for prospective students

College can be very stressful. You have to take a lot of personal responsibility. Do not be afraid to ask questions.

    Campus Safety

We have regular security patrols around the campus that makes sure that the students and teachers are safe. According to our school newsletter, we haven't had any criminal activity this whole school year.

    Bang for the buck

The classes are affordable and they are very convenient for someone that lives in the tri-state area (Alabama, Florida, and Georgia). The tuition for Alabama and Georgia is only a dollar more than Florida's tuition.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria has a nice, modern atmosphere and the food is absolutely delectable. There are so many different choices to choose from. The food is also appropriate for vegetarians and dieters. The salad bar is appealing and it has a nice colorful variety of veggies, greens, dressings and all the fixings. The grill features a menu with many choices that are cooked upon ordering.

    Dorm Life

The dorm are clean and safe from intruders. The rent is a very reasonable price and I would recommend any out of state student to get a dorm room on campus.

    Academic Rigor

The teachers are amazing and there are so many great careers to choose from. Recently our school has just started offering Bachelor's degrees to students that desire to further their education.

    Tips for prospective students

My tips would be to hang in there when things get tough and to never give up. There are various programs and scholarships for students that need financial help.

    In three sentences

I enjoy attending this school because the instructors help out more than my previous college. They encourage you go above and beyond your academic expectations and to be the best you can be. I would reccommend this college to anyone who is looking to further their education.

    Tips for prospective students

Definately considering going because you can get all the help you need if you struggle through school.

    In three sentences

There's only around 30 kids at max in each class. Teacher's have more one on one time if you are struggling. There's an ACE lab to get help with any homework or questions you may have and has study sessions for different subjects.

    Clubs and Activities

Most any club type you can think of is offered at Chipola College.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for students interested in a small college atmosphere.

    What to do for fun

Although the area in which the college is located does not offer much, there are many things to do in the surrounding counties. Panama City Beach is a short 45 minutes away and is home to the World's Most Beautiful Beaches and the largest night club in the U.S.A.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria offers a wide variety of foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The culinary majors set the menu and prepare all items.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are reserved mostly for the out-of-state baseball players and theatre majors.

    Tips for prospective students

Be prepared for a slim variety of activities around the area. If you are interested in a college with a local array of nightlife and activities, this is not the college for you.

    In three sentences

Chipola College is a small-town state college that offers several Bachelor's degrees and varied AA and AS degrees. Chipola is a great school for new college students or older returning students because of the small class sizes and helpful professors. The advisors are very helfpul and are concerned with helping students make the best decisions for their futures. I would recommend this school for anybody interested in starting their college career.
