Student Responses to Review Topic: Tips for Prospective Students

  • I am accepted here and planning to attend soon

The first tip I would offer to prospective students is: know where you want to be or at least who you want to be surrounded by. All colleges have ways of checking this information; thankfully because of the websites and social media. Not only I, but my mom and sister checked out information and we compared notes: pros and cons, weigh those lists and make a decision. Secondly, I would tell prospective students to have a way of connecting with your family especially if you are planning on living in the dorms. Make sure your contacts know you are going away and that you may call them just because you want to talk while you are walking to class or that you don't want to feel like you're eating alone. If they know to expect your call, maybe they will make time for you and your calls will be immediately answered. Hopefully these things will help me too. Good luck & "happy learning"

My advice to prospective students would be get ready for the fun and exciting freshman trip to White Oaks. Its a time to bond with your freshman class and get a change to know them. I also advise you to get a mentor to help you on important things such as financial aid or other things that occur on campus because it's good to have someone who's experienced to help you.

Claflin is a small private school. The average number of students per class is between 15-30 students. This makes it easier to get personal assistance from instructors if needed. Take advantage of this.
