    Campus Safety

The campuses are very safe. I have never heard of or seen anyone get hurt or anything. The only thing that one may or may not worry about is theft, but students usually leave peoples property alone when multiple people are in the classrooms.

    Clubs and Activities

I'm on the wall for this one. I personally haven't joined many clubs at the college, but this year I am hoping to create one. I hear that many of the students involved with the clubs have a lot of fun and meet many people. I also know that the college offers many exciting activities outside of campus which include the traditional pow-wow and student recognition parties.

Great for these types of students

It is great for students who are on the go and need a bit more time for themselves, as well as more money. This college saves many of its students thousands of dollars. The college is also unbiased towards it students. It accepts everyone with open arms.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The College of Menominee Nation is proud of its heritage, therefore it encourages students to attend its yearly traditional Pow-wow. It also offers training opportunities to the students such as suicide prevention, and time-management workshops.

    Bang for the buck

This college is not too cheap, and not too expensive. It provides a happy medium for the student on the go with a busy life. Also, it may seem cheap, but it's courses are of value, and many CMN graduates get great jobs soon after graduating. You don't have to pay for expensive college housing, and you can easily juggle classes and your outside life of school, work, and family/friends by cleverly choosing your class schedule.

    What to do for fun

You can join study groups, make friends and hang out with them after classes, and/or join/make any club you'd like. If they do not offer a club of your interest, you can create one by getting a few friends together and presenting it to the student board. The best part is that if at least five to ten people are game for your club of choice, the board will approve and officially recognize your club as valid.

    Food and Dining

I give this a two-star rating. The campuses offer snack machines, which can be quite disappointing due to lack of variety in choices, and not being able to use a credit/debit card when at a loss for cash. It also tends to be poor in rating because many times, students have two classes in a row lasting from two to three hours per class, so junk food from a vending machine does not easily hold a student over for four to six hours (minimum). It would be nice if they could provide us with some type of daily concession counter that offered lunchtime/dinner food. However, I do value the days when guest come and bring free fruit, cheese, and crackers.

    Dorm Life

There is no housing available on or off campus to the students, so I will tell you why I have given the Dorm Life category a five. First of all, this college helps many people get an education, especially those with children, so many of the students do not need housing in the first place. Also, it is convenient for those who live in close proximity to the campus. Then, they can either bunk up with their parents, or friends. Otherwise, they may even choose to rent a place of their own. Either way, if the student handles their financials in a smart way, they could be saving a lot more than they would by paying for housing costs that colleges charge.

    Academic Rigor

Many of the classes have a high, valuable rigor of which can become highly useful when applied to the correct major. On the other hand, a few classes, deemed as electives, may seem to be more accurately called filler classes (to fill up your schedule, and your major's requirements). Those filler classes tend to be on the easier side, but the ones that are absolutely necessary to complete your desired major are definitely valuable overall and the teachers of those classes are very thorough.

    Tips for prospective students

It is important to ask many questions, because the staff at CMN are always happy to help, and if they don't know an answer, they will work hard to find someone who does. Also, get all of your paperwork in as soon as possible to avoid any unnecessary delays/holds on your account. Lastly, do not forget to express yourself, because it will aid you in getting to know your classmates, as well as your professors.

    In three sentences

This college is overwhelmingly helpful and has many things to offer, such as scholarships, internships, and extracurricular type activities. I have personally experienced many great, outgoing teachers, and on the other hand, some who had outside of school issues to handle. The best part about it is that it is gives you everything you need outside of class readily available online, and the college works hard to make things simpler.
