Be sure to meet with an academic advisor before term starts so that you are taking only the classes that you need to move on. I'd recommend avoiding taking classes based on a major or "for fun," as the quicker you get the credits for your AA, the quicker you can transfer out.
Read MoreHave a plan for where you want to go and how fast you want to get there. The transfer programs are very loose, so it's easy to get sidetracked. There's no set structure like there is at 4 year schools so you need to do the work if you want to transfer out in 2 years or less.
Read Morefind out who the counselors are and be in their face all the time. Eventually if you bother them enough they are more straightforward with you. Some Teachers are just awful, and there's nothing you can do about it except file a legitimate complaint. if enough people are truly upset for honest reasons other than they just gave me a bad grade you could really do something for other students. the cafeteria is where the most people hang out and the best place to make friends in my personal opinion.
