Grand Junction has a lot of things to do outside. You can go hiking, climbing, shooting, dirt biking etc. One of CMU best clubs is the outdoor program, It provides cheap equipment that can be rented, and the program goes on trips to do different activities throughout the year.

Although there aren't always fun activities happening on campus, there is usually plenty to do in Grand Junction. There are two bowling allies, an ice skating rink, and roller skating rink (Spin City). For those who enjoy outdoor recreation, there are tons of hiking and biking trails all over the valley, river rafting, and skiing at nearby Powderhorn in the winter.

Note this is for the MONTROSE SATELLITE CAMPUS, only some comments are applicable to the main campus. The campus itself provides a grand total of nothing fun beyond however much you enjoy your classes. Obviously, Montrose is a small town, so you won't find over-the-top entertainment to rock your socks off. However, you can find plenty of community gatherings if you're willing to look for something a little less crazy than a huge metal concert. Expect plenty of small concerts from the local orchestra, who's conductor also happens to teach classes at CMU Montrose and some smaller stuff from local bands occasionally. Also look out for Main In Motion (festivals held on main street regularly in summer), and plenty of other family-friendly community gatherings. If you're willing to go a tiny bit farther out--a few hours' drive at most--you can visit a plethora of beautiful outdoor areas ranging from high mountains to deserts to pine-covered foothills to lakes. People from all over the world come to this part of Colorado for outdoor experiences year round, especially for skiing and snowboarding in the winter at places like Powderhorn. Beyond that, you can also find some awesome stuff for any inclination at towns like Ridgeway and Telluride, which host events of all kinds (for example, the Telluride music festivals, which includes the Bluegrass Festival) and have some wonderful places to visit year-round. Grand Junction, the location of the main campus and a fairly large city, is also only about an hour's drive away, and it host major events of all kinds regularly as well as having a fairly robust party scene.

There is so much to do in Grand Junction! Nightlife activities include Cactus Canyon nightclub and Mesa Theater, as well as two movie theaters, bowling, and lots of college parties. The monument, Colorado river, and many other natural wonders give endless outdoor opportunities year round.

There are a lot of outdoor activities like rafting, mountain biking, hiking, etc. The Outdoor Program at CMU takes trips sometimes. We are also located near Powderhorn (skiing and snowboarding). If you have an adventurous personality, CMU is a perfect fit.

The town is pretty small but Colorado Mesa University doesn't let their students get bored, between the many clubs, activities, and volunteer opportunities.
