The Colorado School of Mines is located in Golden, Colorado. Established in 1873, Mines has been focusing on the sciences and engineering for more than 130 years, expanding its focus to include understanding the Earth, harnessing energy, and sustaining the environment. The school offers more than 70 program options for certificates, undergraduate, and graduate degrees, with research as an integral part of them all and supported by government agencies and laboratories. Mines is also home to the Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum and a wide variety of research institutes, such as the Center for Space Resources, Colorado Fuel Cell Center, and the Advanced Water Technology Center.
The campus is beautiful, in a bowl of mountains and bordered by west Denver. The amenities on campus aren't as shiny as some, but they're everything you could need for any sport or hobby you may have. They do a really good job of keeping campus safe; the entire campus is well lit, and campus PD is friendly and always around to crack a joke and keep everyone safe.
