Take as many AP/IB/College Credits as you can. For the most part they won't transfer, but they teach you the basis of learning how to study and having to put a lot of time into a topic. If your school doesn't offer hard classes (any engineering, comp sci, any math higher than APCalc AB) realize that you are at a HUGE disadvantage and it won't be easy to catch up. As most people are learning things for a second or third time you'll be learning it for the first and the professors expect that you already know all of it. (Trust me been there.)
HSS is the most pointless class you'll ever take and admit that early on. Just do the work and get it done with. The writing you do for that class won't help you with any of the technical writing you have to do for any other class. Spend your valuable time on classes like Calc and Physics that really do matter.
