I am continually impressed by the quality of the teaching at Dartmouth. Since it is a college, faculty members really do focus on undergraduates as opposed to solely pursuing their research. However, that is not to say that there are no research opportunities available. As a freshman I participated in the Women in Science Project internship program, as a sophomore Howard Hughes Medical Institute fellow I will continue doing research, and as a junior one can continue as a Presidential Scholar. Since we are on the quarter system, classes are fast paced, but it is nice that you only have...

Generally good professors, but not very diverse student body or faculty (despite what the literature says). Amenities okay. Classes limited but gov program very strong.

Dartmouth College has a large campus that is great for all students - 5 stars on location/campus. It's medical department is WONDERFUL, and it even runs its own hospital, which has doctors from all around the world, including ones that have graduated from Dartmouth (5 stars for employment opportunities)!!!! Also, it has a great department for medical studies, which is great for those looking for a degree in those fields (5 stars)!

It's an amazing school with TONS of resources and support. Lots of different things to delve in and discover your passions. There isn't as much pressure as in other schools to do things other people are doing -- particularly because Dartmouth most likely has something YOU'd want to do; everybody just does their own thing and there is no competition with that.

Campus Housing: Campus housing is pretty great granted there is really not much else available except for greek/society houses and off-campus houses. It's clean, well taken care of, somewhat spacious depending on what lottery number you get and good in terms of location. The lottery system is rather hectic but manageable.

I loved the welcoming atmosphere from the moment I stepped on campus, which I noticed during an admissions tour and certainly holds true. Be prepared for the fast pace of a ten-week term since Dartmouth uses the quarter system instead of semesters, but it gives students more flexibility to pursue multiple study abroad, internship and leave-term options over their student careers. Dartmouth students are very involved in extracurriculars, perhaps even over-committed, and Greek life is a big deal here.

Dartmouth is simply amazing. Despite its location in a tiny NH town, the campus has a lot to offer and is very welcoming. If you love the great outdoors, Dartmouth is the place for you.

There is no other place like Dartmouth; often people speak of it as a bubble but you'll have great experiences just the same. You'll meet people from all walks of life that not only broaden your worldview but collectively make the campus a more interesting place. Its academic excellence is unparalleled and outdoor activities fantastic, and though it may have areas for improvement, Dartmouth is a wonderful school and I am excited to be able to spend four years in this community.
