    Campus Safety

I don't think I've ever heard of any incidents at the campus. The campus police are also very friendly and were glad to help me find my keys one day last semester.

    Greek Life

There are honor societies; I'm a member of Phi Theta Kappa and Alpha Beta Gamma. But there aren't any sororities or fraternities.

    Clubs and Activities

There are clubs for anything you could be interested in. It always seams like there are things to do after my classes if I wanted.

    What to do for fun

    Leave class early.

    Food and Dining

The coffee store is more expensive than Starbucks. Seriously, $4 for a cup of hot tea? And the muffin I got last week was stale.

    Dorm Life

Never been to the apartments, but there's around two or three apartment buildings for students.

    Academic Rigor

Not too many challenging classes. Although, most of the students that complain that the classes are hard don't take notes, play on their phone and talk in the back row all class period.

    Tips for prospective students

Use this as your Plan-B (or plan-Z). There is nothing better than an actual university setting and dorm life.

    In three sentences

A very bland school. All the people are those kids who you didn't think would get accepted to college. Some teachers REALLY care and want to help you succeed, and others see it as a super easy paycheck.

    Academic Rigor

All teachers here are willing to help you if you are willing to put the work and try your best. They are there to help you along the way and achieve the best you can do.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't be afraid to ask questions you may have. Everyone there is friendly and willing to give you the best response or if not point you in the right direction.

    What to do for fun

Delaware Tech is near a beach, outlets and waterparks. So for recreation, you and pick and choose what you like.

    Food and Dining

There are eateries around the college campus, that are in walking distance. Del Tech has vending machines available for the students to use, but they do not offer food and dining.

    Dorm Life

Delaware Technical Community College does not provide a dormatory for the students, which is a disadvantage to me because I am an out-of-state student. My parents and I had to search around in the Georgetown area for an apartment which is an additional bill for my parents, but I am grateful that I do have a scholarship to attend the college so that is one bill my parent's don't have to pay.

    Academic Rigor

I think that Delaware Technical Community College has an excellent academic rigor which encourages students to achieve academic success by using the resources that are provided on a daily basis.

    Tips for prospective students

I will encourage other students to attend Delaware Tech because it is a safe and country-like setting, if you are interested in playing baseball, it has an excellent baseball program and last but not least, Delaware Tech provided an excellent academic program and tutoring resources for all the students to aid in their academic achievement.

    In three sentences

I will give Delaware Technical Community College a nine on the various resources that they provide for students who need additional assistance with his their academics. I will rate the college a nine on having a safe and friendly atmosphere. Lastly, I will rate the college a ten on having small classes.

    Campus Safety

It isn't in the safest or sanest town in the area, but they do have security there. Outside the college, there isn't a lot of enclosed spaces where someone could be hurt out of view.

    Greek Life

    Nonexistent.

    Clubs and Activities

Every department has a club of its own.

Great for these types of students

Career oriented, who want to go to school locally and inexpensively.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Behind the baseball field, there's a walk and exercise trail.

    Bang for the buck

Other colleges would cost me 4 times as much. But the school is renowned in many areas of study, though they don't have much in the way of advanced degrees. Bang for the buck is high.

    What to do for fun

They have a gymnasium and a walking trail. They also offer sports teams, which I'm not involved with.

    Food and Dining

I have not tried the cafeteria.

    Dorm Life

This is a community college. Far as I know, there are no dorms.

    Academic Rigor

Actually, I find the purely academic aspects easier than high school. Mostly because the teachers are better than the ones at my old high school.

    Tips for prospective students

You can speak to a counselor, but you'll definitely want to talk to the teachers. They know everything. Just use the counselors to help you sign up for classes and things like that.

    In three sentences

The teachers are great, but the other staff members are often lacking in basic knowledge. The hardest thing in getting into the college was simply finding out what you need to know in order to attend classes. But the school is career focused, so there isn't a lot of useless busy work.

    Campus Safety

The Public Safety officers are completely committed to keeping this college a safe college. They work long hours and are quick to make sure that you are alright, whether it is making sure you get to your car or asking if you need any assistance.

    What to do for fun

There is a great amount of clubs that are going on all around this campus. You only have to pick an interest! I love being a part of the clubs that I have chosen, and would not trade my time here.

    Food and Dining

The college here is catered by a great local restaurant. They consistently have two specials a day, along with the normal meals and salad bar.

    Dorm Life

Even though I have not lived in the dorms, since I commute, I have heard that they are great. They have even just finished a new section of student apartments.

    Academic Rigor

The classes here are challenging, but if you go to class, ask questions, and actually focus on your goals, you will do well in your academics.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure that you are never afraid to ask. There are always people and teachers in the hall, ready to answer your questions. Their support was key to my success as a student.

    In three sentences

Delaware Technical and Community College has been a great school to attend for the last two years. It was a great way for me to get on my feet and into the world of education. I felt that I was supported at every turn in all that I wanted to accomplish.
