Student Responses to Review Topic: Food And Dining

ECU has two main dining areas, Todd Dining Hall and West End Dining Hall. I have eaten at both of these dining halls multiple times and honestly, it gets a bit redundant after a few months. A good way to make sure you do not get tired of all the food is to utilize the other areas that you can find food at. Mendenhall is a really popular spot on campus that has places like Panda Express and Chick-Fil-A, so you can basically have some fast food while on campus. There are also a lot of Starbucks locations throughout campus that are open from 8AM to as late as 11PM! Making sure you change up what you eat every day will be a key factor in enjoying the dining experience and eating healthy as well!

There are usually plenty of great options and the food is pretty nutritious. As a vegetarian I have to be creative but they do try and put in effort for people who have needs!

ECU food is much better than any other school I toured or went to. That being said, it gets tiring really fast. I eat gluten-free and there really aren't that many options. They are supposed to have gluten-free bread, but it's never stocked. I have heard that they are trying to get more healthy options, so my fingers are crossed.

Since I did not live on campus I also didn't eat in the dining hall really. I mainly went to Chick-fil-A, which is always a solid option

With 2 Chick-Fil A's, 2 Starbucks, 2 Subways, a Chili's, 2 burger joints, 2 pizza places, an Einstein Bagels, a Panda Express, a Barbecue place, a sandwich shop and of course the dining halls, there is always a wide range of food on campus. The dining halls can sometimes vary in how good the food is but normally there are so many choices it doesn't really matter.

There are many choices to eat on campus and especially in the two dining halls. I live on the hill so I eat at Todd dining hall. In Todd, there are many choices every day but they always have cereal for breakfast, pizza, pasta, chicken sandwiches and burgers for lunch and the same for dinner with other varieties. I'm generally a picky eater but I have always found something to eat.

Food and dining is good because they give you different options. You get tired of going there everyday though. But they have different food places on campus like 360 and others where you can get subway, chic-fil-a, chili's and etc. That's a great thing because sometimes you don't want to eat the dining hall food.

There are a multitude of sororities and fraternities and they are a way to gain connection to future jobs. Everyone is encouraged to pledge the fraternities or sororities, for they are an easy way to life long friends. Emails are sent out at the beginning of each year to notify each class when rush week is going to come in affect.

Greek Life is a great way to be actively involved on campus. Students involved in Greek Life have higher GPA's and retention rates than non-Greeks. It provides you opportunities in leadership, volunteering, being part of a group and philanthropy activities. I highly recommend giving Greek Life a try!
