Check out your professors on before you register for classes. Although some of the professors are amazing and life-changing, a few can be dull and dry while offering little assistance to students when needed and giving an uneven balance of coursework that puts you behind in your other studies just to keep up.

It is very helpful to attend the Triton Jumpstart orientation tour before you begin classes; your advisers and the website let you know when the next one takes place. Also, the college uses a test called the Accuplacer to place you into the correct math and English classes. Some might not need to take it - contact the college for details - but in general, incoming high school students who have not done the Running Start program often have to take it. It is important for your long-term planning to know that if you already know your major, you should pursue one of the college's more specialized associate's degrees to save money; else, you have to take your prerequisites at the university.
