i love this school because it is a small college located in the appalachia part of virginia. its very exclusion and the class sizes range from 6 to 24 people, which is relatively small compared to most colleges, but the one on one attention is great and i feel that i learn more here than i would ever learn anywhere else. the professors love to be your best friend and they are always welling to help and have one on one sessions with you!

Emory is a very small, intimate school situated in what most would call the middle of nowhere - you need a car to get to anything here, seriously. It’s a gorgeous campus full of historic buildings, which is a plus, but some of the older buildings SERIOUSLY need renovating (like Hillman and MaWa.) Pros: easy to make friends, professors really care about you, lots of ways to get active on campus, tons of sports games to attend, local Greek life, and for theatre majors - connection with the Barter Theatre is amazing. Cons: horrible food selection (food itself isn’t bad), location, not a huge variety of classes available in the fall, there can be pretty long uphill walks to class, and being a small school means pretty much everyone knows your business.

Emory is great for those who love the outdoors and adventures. The class sizes are small so teachers and students have more time for one on ones. Truly feels like home.

I have lived in this area my whole life, but never fully felt what it was like to be a part of the Emory & Henry community. After my first semester, I realize that I love E&H and the sense of community it brings. It provides academic rigor, rural charm, and an endless amount of opportunities to advance your career and life.

If there's a filmmaker out there who needs an idyllic college campus that looks like it hasn't really changed since the 1940s or 50s, they should consider E&H. It looks like a postcard. It's like this perfect little college town ... dropped in the middle of nowhere.

Emory & Henry College (yes, it's an ampersand!) is a small liberal arts college nestled in Appalachia. With less than 1,000 students, there is a tight community feel that is difficult to find at other colleges. The college prides itself on its community involvement and service which is incorporated in extracurricular activities and in the classroom. Emory & Henry has some of the best professors in country and they demonstrate their capabilities consistently. Leaving Emory & Henry after graduating will be the hardest thing for students to do.
