Essex County College is a 2-year community college in Newark, New Jersey, offering 49 degrees across seven departments. On top of being a short 20 minute train ride from New York City, ECC ranks first among all New Jersey 2-year schools in students successfully transferred to Rutgers University, Montclair State University, and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. ECC’s campus is home to the Africana Institute, a center for research relating to the African global experience that also hosts visiting scholars and performers.
Essex County College has opened up many options for students who may not believe they can actually go to college. For me, the school revealed that you can continue with your education no matter the circumstance they have powerful professors that will challenge you if allow them too. As a whole this college is a great gateway to more educational means.
