    What to do for fun

There are many courts to play basketball, and tennis on. There's a large community pool about five minutes from campus. Once the athletic seasons are underway there will be many events to attend.

    Food and Dining

There are many places to eat that are near the campus. Also there are two grocery stores to stock up on the essential food.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are unfurnished apartments that are shared between two or four roommates. Once furnished the rooms are nice.

    Academic Rigor

I don't have a loaded down schedule, keeping my schedule open for many activities.

    Tips for prospective students

Come prepared to live on your own. If you don't have a car, make sure to make a friend that does so you can restock on groceries, and supplies.

    Campus Safety

It is a small, tight knit, and safe campus.

    Greek Life

    None that I know of.

    Clubs and Activities

The Student Environmental Association is great.

Great for these types of students

FRC is great for all students.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

    International Pi Day rocks!

    Bang for the buck

I have been very impressed with the amount of material I have learned over the past two semesters. I am very glad I chose FRC.

    What to do for fun

Lots of outdoor activities. There is hiking, biking kayaking in the summer and skiing in the winter.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria is great. Staff know your name and make custom orders.

    Dorm Life

I didn't live in the dorms but hear they are fine.

    Academic Rigor

The courses are challenging but the professors are invested in the students and work hard to help students succeed.

    Tips for prospective students

When you attend college, you must be willing to work for your education. You will also have to prioritize between school and out of class activities. You ,most likely, will not have time for everything you want to do.

    In three sentences

Feather River College is a wonderful school and helps students transition from high school to the academic rigor of college. It is in a beautiful rural setting and professors are professional, knowledgeable, and there to help students succeed. FRC helps students build on what they bring.

    Campus Safety

    Very Safe

    Clubs and Activities

    Enactus

Great for these types of students

    Environmentalists, outdoor recreation, hippies.

    What to do for fun

From white water kayaking to rafting and rock climbing, what isn't to love above the great outdoors. Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, camping at alpine lakes and soaking in the hot springs the local life in Quincy is active and relaxed!

    Food and Dining

The food is good, the variety isn't too big but, we are the smallest community college in California! They need more vegetarian options, but over all the food tastes homemade and is always hot to go.

    Dorm Life

I hear the dorms aren't bad, I have never stayed in one myself, I'm not one to live on campus. There are two and four person occupancies, and its a short walk to the campus.

    Academic Rigor

I don't feel like the curriculum is hard here, and the work load is fairly light. Most teachers will work with you, even tricky work schedules. Some times I have questions the teachers can not answer which is unfortunate because I like to dive into details.

    Tips for prospective students

Join Enactus, and work to make a difference. If you have a love for the natural world and learning hands on, you will enjoy the environmental studies program.

    In three sentences

Feather River Community College offers a wide variety of environmental classes, where you work in the field with nature and the local environments through out the seasons. These classes have taught me skills I have used during multiple Internships, in my daily life and also for my future career in the environmental field. There are great extra curricular activities including Enactus, which gave me the opportunity to travel to Uganda this January volunteering to extend a pipe line, teach English and inspire local entrepreneurs!
