The school may seem ideal given its aesthetic beauty and location, but make sure to visit the school! It's always a good idea to go on a tour and attend freshman orientations. Be very mindful of how many classes you have missed and the reasons you have missed them! You are only allowed to miss 20% of classes (classes that meet 3x per week are allowed 8 absences, classes that meet 2x per week are allowed 5 absences, and classes that meet 1x per week are allowed 2 absences). Save the absences for when you really need them! Even if classes are excused, if you miss more than 20% of classes you will have to retake the class. An excused absence only allows you to make up missed classwork/homework/exams. Bring your rain boots/coats and umbrellas! It rains a lot in St. Augustine, sometimes unexpectedly, and downtown floods very easily so you will need (at least) rain boots to get around.

If you're extremely serious about your future, know exactly what you want to do, and know that you're going to give 100% of yourself into every project, than Flagler's great. If not, do what I did and go to a community college for a few years, learn the value of time, energy, and money, and then come here.

Definitely visit the school if possible before you make the decision to attend the school. The small city can be great but it's a tourist town so at times it's very crowded and very loud. Also, DO NOT FORGET YOUR RAIN GEAR AND CLOTHES FOR WHEN IT GETS COLD. I can't stress that enough.

Always do the homework on time because if you leave all of it for the last minute it will become stressful and very hard to keep up with everything. Also if you plan on coming to study here bring rain boots!!! It gets flooded sometimes so you'll need them in order get around.
