Am learning a lot
A lot of people put down community colleges, but I have been able to learn a lot due to the small class sizes.
Am enjoying being here
I love the personal feel of this school, the classes are small and all of my professors have taken the time to learn a little about me and my fellow classmates.
Bang for the buck
Definitely worth the tuition cost, community colleges are cheaper than big universities. It would be wise to go here to get your AA if you plan on doing a 4 year or more degree!!
Tips for prospective students
Don't goof off, especially if you just got out of high school, college is a lot different. You are more responsible for yourself, most professors will not say anything to you if you do not turn in your work.
Great for these types of students
Those wanting a personal and small college. It's easy to find things and the classes are small.

Am learning a lot
The teachers here are all very student-oriented. They take the time to give you their office hours and various ways to contact them if you are having trouble and if you do ever happen to go by, they'll be there to happily assist you. There's also a fantastic assortment of tutors and assistance to help you on your way and through your classes in the centers we have here.
Am enjoying being here
I love Jacksonville and the college has that smaller, high school feel to it. The campus is beautiful, speckled with flowers, sculptures, and new age architecture, and there's plenty of things to do! If you're waiting for a class to start, why not go chill out in the Japanese zen garden? It's so simple to navigate and if you don't know where you're going, the entire first week of class there are people there specifically to help you out. The people are all sweet and the landmarks are gorgeous. Jacksonville is a great place to live!
Bang for the buck
For a school of this quality, it is definitely not as pricey as it could be. Some of the top teachers in the state and even more prestigious than that have been hired to mold some of the finest minds from people who sometimes didn't even know they were capable of such feats. Financial aid is also there to help you whenever you need and they are more than willing to pull some strings for your individual circumstances.
Tips for prospective students
This is a great school for first-time college students. If you happen to mess up, the faculty are more than willing to help out and try their best to give you advice. Most of the classes are very similar to high-school classes and due to the smaller class sizes, you get a lot more individual time with your professor to maximize learning.
Great for these types of students
First-time college students. Students looking for small class sizes and a high school feel. Students looking for a smaller, easier to navigate college. Students looking for friendly, accepting peers and understanding faculty. Students who want to test out the waters and find their major.

Florida State College at Jacksonville is a wonderful school that offers a little bit of something for everyone, whether you are all about location or the layout of campus there are several different options, and depending on what you're degree is in you will most likely be attending one class in particular. All of the professors are amazing, they care about their students and go out of their way to make sure they are providing a quality education. All of the facilities are great as well, each campus feels like it's own little community.
Tips for prospective students
Make sure you stay on top of your work because there will be a lot of it. The libraries are great places to study but there are also specific study rooms set aside if you need to be alone which really comes in handy when you're studying for a test. Finally, make sure you are getting to know your professors and fellow students, you never know when you're going to need a letter of recommendation or study partners.
Academic Rigor
I'm one student who loves a challenge and I have yet to attend a course through fscj that wasn't challenging in one aspect or another which tells me I'm receiving a quality education.
Dorm Life
Unfortunately, there are no dorms, but there is plenty to do around campus to make you feel like you live there.
Food and Dining
Each campus has their own vendors usually being Starbucks/Subway, and there are many other options to choose from.
What to do for fun
There is always something to do, I really suggest joining a club, you'll meet new people while volunteering or going on field trips. Also, there are so many clubs, I would even recommend joining a few.
Bang for the buck
FSCJ offers a lot in terms of 'bang for your buck's. Many of the professors are doctors in their field and they come from some of the most revered universities. Also, there are several Bachelor's degrees offered that are the same quality as you would find at any of the surrounding universities.
Great for these types of students
FSCJ is great for anyone who enjoys small classes and being involved in their community.
Clubs and Activities
As stated earlier, there are lots of clubs to choose from, there is something for everyone.
Greek Life
There are a few Greek Life opportunities offered.
Campus Safety
Lots of campus security guards are constantly present to ensure every students safety.
