    - the professors are kind, helpful, understanding people who will accommodate you if you'â?â?re struggling. take advantage of this! talk to them as soon as there's a problem. - the academic counsellors are awesome, as are the counsellors and nurses at the wellness center. it costs only ten dollars a week for a counselling session. - roman catholicism is the core of franciscan'â?â?s identity. students of other faiths are welcome, but i imagine they might feel like they'â?â?ve landed on a different planet. - the culture as created by the students themselves is nice, but insular - everyone tends to like the same things to the point where it can be a little unnerving. most of the students are nice, but a handful can be snooty. more on this under "dorm life"â?â?, "what to do for fun"â?â?, "uâ?nusual traditions"â?â?, "â?â?clubs & activities"â?â?, "â?â?greek life."â?â?

Franciscan has so many opportunities to offer, but I've seen some students go to their classes, use a minimal effort to complete the necessities, and ignore all the other options. If you go to FUS, take advantage of the perks! Go to talks and daily Mass. Sign up for a holy hour. Join a household. Get involved. It sounds like a lot, but you will not regret it!

Turn in your information about housing early to get into the dorm of your choice! I highly encourage you to talk to your counselor about your major and classes that you are taking and will take in the future. Also there is a career center that is very helpful in letting you know about what you should be doing to compete with other people in your field.

If you are a commuter, like me, be sure to get involved in on campus clubs and activities. Sometimes it is hard to get to know people and this makes it easier to meet students with similar interests. If you live on campus, Marian Hall or Elizabeth Hall are the best women's dorms.
