Categories Comments Bang for the buck NO. Headache, not a good deal.
What to do for fun Have no idea, too busy studying.
Food and Dining Ate off campus.
Dorm Life Lived off campus.
Academic Rigor Standard and uninspiring.
Tips for prospective students AVOID THIS ARROGANT CESSPOOL OF SELF-RIGHTEOUS TWITS. I have been trying to get transcripts for an Engineering program. I paid extra to have it rushed. a month later...nothing. The other colleges have sent theirs weeks ago, Fullerton not only didn't bother sending them they lied when they were questioned about it. What kind of a grown person lies about making a mistake? They felt completely comfortable stealing from me, then lying to my face, then saying it would be another month before they could process a new one. If this was a one time issue I might see the possibility of a mistake, but this is not, this is the 3rd time they have screwed up a transcript order. I have had to talk to them several times just because they can't figure out how to mail out a college document after being paid to do so. Typically transcripts take about 2 weeks maximum, this transcript has NEVER reached the University it was supposed too. The last one when I was in junior college took 2 months! It eventually was mailed but only at the threat of talking to someone in charge and presenting receipts to prove that documents had never been mailed. How can this place even be operating with those kinds of ethics? I recall that it wasn't a stellar college in the first place, no direction for new students, and administration that wasn't only unhelpful but rude and unprofessional. Looks like not much has changed. If they handle their administration this way, just think how they will handle your child's education, or your education. Save your money and your sanity.
In three sentences Be smart, stay away. They do not feel responsible to you in anyway and will steal money from you.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There is a place downtown on harbor that is filled with cafes and shopping places that you can go hangout and it is a cool place to hang out at night. They also have clubs that you can go to.
Food and Dining The cafeteria has a lot of great food but if you do not want to eat there, there is a lot of other places that is close to the school that you can go to. There is a subway across the street and a mcdonalds down the street.
Dorm Life There are a lot of apartments that are down the street from the school that students live in and they are very nice. Those are technically the campus dorms but they are very close to the school so it will make it easier on the student to commute back and forth.
Academic Rigor There are alot of great classes that a student can take to help prepare them to either transfer or for a good career. There is a transfer center that can help you choose the perfect college for you and they also give you an Ed plan to prepare you to transfer to that college of your choice. There are also scholarship workshops. The teachers and counselors there are very helpful and will do whatever it takes to help you succeed.
Tips for prospective students You should really consider this school if you are looking for good classes and a great opportunity to meet new friends and hangout!
In three sentences I like Fullerton College a lot, good people good times and a lot of good classes you can take to better prepare you for your future. The people there are very nice and friendly and will definitely come up to you if they want to talk to you. The teachers are very nice and helpful as well.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I usually see security guards walking around campus. They're friendly and if you're smoking they will tell you to stop. There's also a lot no smoking signs on campus.
Bang for the buck Yes its cheap. But you also get what you pay for.
What to do for fun I commute. I go to school and go home, but there does seem to be something going on a lot of the time.
Food and Dining It's expensive and ok food. I rather pack a lunch from home and save money and actually eat something I like.
Dorm Life No dorm
Academic Rigor My first semester was easy in 3 out of 4 classes. I put in barely any effort and got 2 A's and a B. I found my biology class to be because we really only took tests, quizzes, and lecture notes. No homework to help understand the course. I found the SI to be helpful in courses. I honestly think it depends on the student and professor to decide how well they do in the classes.
Tips for prospective students Try to get involved with the TAP program if you are interested in transferring to a 4-year. Also try to get early classes because parking can be horrible at times.

Categories Comments Clubs and Activities There are a bunch of clubs to get involved in, they have club rushes and job fairs pretty often. There are also sports, music, student government and debate teams. It's easy to get involved.
Great for these types of students Self motivated.
Bang for the buck Super cheap, and really helpful if you need financial aid.
What to do for fun Downtown Fullerton has a lot of great art and restaurants and even a museum.
Food and Dining Lots of great cafes and restaurants within walking distance.
Dorm Life No dorms.
Academic Rigor I think it really depends on what professors you get, but if you really want to be challenged I would advise looking into the Honors program.
Tips for prospective students Set goals for yourself and stick to them, I see a lot of students who go without any direction and they end up staying there for much longer than necessary. Make sure you do your own research, the counselors, although very kind and helpful, cater to many students and don't always know what solution is best for your situation. I would say know what you want to know before you go to your counseling appointments and ask questions.
In three sentences Fullerton College is alright, it's a community college, so it's not incredibly exciting but there are ways to get involved and make your time there better. It is a lot easier to manage than what everyone told me before I was enrolled. Ultimately, if you can't afford to go to a university straight out of high school or want to improve your chances of getting into a more selective school, this place is a great option.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck You you need to buy stuff and you're in a hurry for a snack, go to the bookstore for a cheaper price than the cafeteria. Everything is still expensive though.
Food and Dining Food here is okay. The salads are the best things on the menu, but everything else is over priced.
Dorm Life Non Existent
Academic Rigor Some courses have been easy and some have been difficult. Over all, I still learn a lot no matter how difficult it the courses are.
Tips for prospective students Be prepared to meet with the counselor and discuss your academic plan. Your counselors are there to help you as much as possible, but you also need to prepare and help your counselor help you.
In three sentences Fullerton College is a great place to get your feet settled or to start running for your goals. If you're unsure of what you want to do or going through your General Education Credits, you won't be dissapointed by what you get at Fullerton College.

Categories Comments What to do for fun You can hang out in the quad area, sit and talk on the grass area, and hang out and jam with some friends are some ways you can have fun on campus.
Food and Dining The food and dining area of Fullerton College is one of the areas on campus where I was able to meet different people and my friends to hang out and eat. Even though the prices are a little high, the food is pretty good. The dining area of the cafeteria is pretty spacious with many tables to sit or you can be at the patio area right outside the cafeteria to hang out and eat with friends.
Dorm Life There's no dorm in Fullerton College.
Academic Rigor Academically, you will be challenged by many of the professors you will take at Fullerton College. There will be easy teachers and difficult teachers who will want to see you succeed by giving you different tools to prepare you to go to a university and be a better student in every aspect.
Tips for prospective students Fullerton College gives every student the opportunity or opportunities to find out what they want to do or are interested in by having the different resources on campus that all students can get to further their knowledge. Make use of the different resources that you have to become a better student and it will help you. Take advantage of the resources on campus to move forward and not stay complacent.
In three sentences Fullerton College is a good school for all the resources that is provided by the school for the students to have access to succeed in college and their education. All of the staff want to help and see students succeed and move forward in their careers and lives. The environment is very friendly and modern.

Categories Comments Clubs and Activities Great variety of active clubs on campus: there's something for just about everyone to enjoy!
What to do for fun Lots of fun stuff. There are performing groups, clubs and all kinds of activities throughout the year to get students involved.
Food and Dining The school has a really nice cafeteria with plenty of choices and a very large seating area. It's kept very clean and everything runs smoothly.
Dorm Life There are no dorms here, sadly.
Academic Rigor It's really not hard unless you don't pay attention in class or study. Professors are always willing to help out and never treat a student as if they are stupid for asking a question.
Tips for prospective students Schedule an appointment to see a counselor right away or it'll take weeks to see one and make sure to see one at least once per semester. They can help you keep on track, but don't rely on them completely: become very familiar with the graduation requirements for your situation. You are responsible for knowing what you need to get done and doing it.
In three sentences This school is really great in terms of atmosphere. It is a wonderful learning environment and almost everybody is incredibly serious about their studies. The students and professors are really friendly too and that makes being successful that much easier!

Categories Comments Campus Safety I see them drive around every now and then. They are nice! Keep in mind this is a community college, so ANYONE can take classes. Be safe!
Bang for the buck Great price for classes. You are definitely saving money if you decide to transfer after a while.
What to do for fun Basically is a commuter school. But there are clubs to be involved with.
Food and Dining Haven't heard great things about the food. I bring my own lunch.
Dorm Life Live at home with parents.
Academic Rigor Teachers are great. Get involved with the TAP(transfer achievement program) if you are interested in transferring. The work is manageable but don't procrastinate.
Tips for prospective students After applying and before you sign up for classes, you take assessments for math, English, and reading to see where you place. If you're in AP classes and fresh out of high school, you should do fine. But a lot of people have to start at the begining math and English before they are even eligible to take transfer classes. Try and get early classes so you don't have to worry about parking. By 10:30 am on a Monday, there are no spots left. But after 1:30 pm spots seem to clear up. Bathrooms are ok, just depending on the building you're in. Campus is clean, but people smoke a lot. Like a lot a lot, even though there are no smoking signs so that is kinda annoying. In the big parking structure, people don't park the greatest so try to actually park inside the lines. Overall a great community college.

Food and Dining The food is good but a bit expensive but there are local restaurants very close by.
Dorm Life No dorm
Academic Rigor The classes themselves are like any other community college class they require effort and is completely up to you whether you pass or not.
Tips for prospective students If you are not sure about which professor to take ask the counselors they are honest. Pick a major as soon as possible, and plan ahead of time. Use the resources the college offers whether it's tutoring, counseling or the library they are all readily available.
In three sentences Fullerton College is a clean, safe and welcoming campus to study. The college provides many resources that helps you plan for your future or study for your classes. The professors are knowledgable, care about teaching and are helpful.

Categories Comments Clubs and Activities No experience.
Food and Dining No experience.
Dorm Life No experience.
Academic Rigor Due to economy, several night classes have been eliminated from Fullerton College, which can make it difficult for students that work full-time to find open classes that they need. Due to the cut backs in work force, it has reduced the amount of teachers in math making it difficult to find a great math teacher for the higher levels of math; not ideal for a student with a math major. Also, the library can be loud at times so it would be a good idea to purchase some disposable ear plugs.
Tips for prospective students Arrive early the first few weeks of class as campus parking can be difficult at the beginning of the semester. There is also free parking available on Berkeley, as well as, 2 hr. parking option along residential streets on the front side of the campus on Chapman. Fullerton College also provides 1-day parking passes in the student lots for $2. Review your professors on ratemyprofessor.com. You can also often rent or purchase some of your textbooks for cheaper at Little Professor Bookstore in Placentia.
In three sentences Fullerton College is overall a very clean and safe campus; dedicated to providing designated smoke-free zones to help prevent second hand smoke. They also have a very large library with access to computers, copiers, printers, and reference materials. Most of the reference materials that can be found at the library can also be accessed online.

Bang for the buck They've cut time out of the semesters and i could really see the effect of not having those two extra weeks this semester. It stressed not just myself and classmates out,but also my professors.
What to do for fun Theater and sports. There are lots of clubs to join as well.

Food and Dining I love the Fullerton College cafeteria! They have everything. My favorite is a taco bowl or salad wrap! They also have a wide variety of drinks and snacks for quick in between class pick me ups!
Dorm Life Fullerton College does not have any dorms for their students.
Tips for prospective students Try your best in every class, if you put the effort in (no matter how difficult the professor) you have the potential to pass. Use the tools Fullerton College offers, they are extremely helpful and shows the staff cares about your future. Go to your professors office hours if you are struggling with any of your courses. It shows them you care and are putting effort into the class and they take that into account when they give you a final grade in the class. Participate in class and do not procrastinate!

Categories Comments What to do for fun For fun, there is not much you can do on the campus. Although, the school is located nearby stores, food places, and a mall.
Food and Dining In the cafeteria, they have a variety of food to choose from. They have snacks that you can buy, full meals you can buy and they offer a healthy alternative.
Dorm Life There is no dorming available on campus for Fullerton College.
Academic Rigor I believe the academics are rigorous. You do not have the time to procrastinate because the professors seek perfection.
Tips for prospective students There are a lot of students that try and register for classes so register as soon as you can because the classes get filled up quickly. If you are on the wait-list, stick around for a few weeks because that is when students that are enrolled begin to drop.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Best for returning Adult students and those looking forward to transfer into the UC and Cal State universities.
What to do for fun Just head down to Downtown Fullerton...It's all there.
Food and Dining Do not eat on campus. It's over-priced and not that appetizing. However, since the school is so close to Downtown Fullerton, there are some great eats around.
Dorm Life This is a commuter campus. However, there are plenty houses and apartments that cater to students wishing to live closer to the college.
Academic Rigor The Fullerton City College has been consistently one of the top ten community colleges that transfers students to the UC and Cal State Universities. It's right up there with Santa Monica College.
Tips for prospective students Traffic around the school is somewhat heavy especially during peak hours. Arrive with plenty of time to find parking in designated lots. Bathrooms are usually clean... I love the library bathroom because they monitor that one closely. Meet with your academic advisor to make sure that you stay on tract; Join the TAP (Transfer Achievement) program. You automatically get into important classes. There's no stress or frustration of getting into a class. And it looks great in UC applications. UCLA eats that up. DO IT.
In three sentences The teachers I've had so far have been great. The campus itself is very nice and clean; it's a no smoking campus. The school is not too big but not too small, perfect to walk from class to class.

What to do for fun Join clubs or try out for the sports teams.
Food and Dining I haven't eaten the food at here.
Dorm Life I don't live in dorms.
Academic Rigor I don't find it challenging as long as I am able to put in the proper study time.
Tips for prospective students I think that in order to be successful at Fullerton College, you need to have the determination to get the classes that you need. You also can't be lazy because taking a class here and there will turn out to be a regret once you're taking classes for you GE 7 years into college. Also, you should be flexible with classes. It is possible to get your general ed. done in two years. You just have to be determined, flexible and can't be lazy.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There's a lot of security roaming around but no so much that you feel like you're in a prison.
Greek Life I'm not aware of any Greek life.
Clubs and Activities There's a couple dozen clubs and you get a lot of pamphlets on your car for parties and hookah lounges.
Great for these types of students I would recommend this school for everyone looking to get their general ed out of the way in order to transfer to another college.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Nothing unusual that I've noticed except for maybe all the pamphlets for hookah lounges that people get stuck under their windshield wipers.
Bang for the buck I was told that tuition is free for California residents, but that's apparently not true for everyone, however I don't know why. Also, if you're in need of financial aid, the school might give you money to pay for your classes. This isn't part of the Pell or Cal grant money, but it still might be related to the FAFSA, I'm not sure.
What to do for fun Sports or clubs.
Food and Dining I haven't really tried the food from the cafeteria, but the blueberry muffins are amazing and there's a SubWay across the street.
Dorm Life There isn't any dorms on campus
Academic Rigor I think the work is pretty easy, just time consuming. Although I am learning new stuff instead of re-hashed information for the first time since elementary school. Most of the professors make the subjects interesting, but definitely make sure to use ratemyprofessor.com because there are some that are horrible teachers.
Tips for prospective students Go in to see a counselor every semester so they can go over your classes, GPA, etc. to make sure the school knows what you do. Also, make sure you're not in a certificate program if you plan on getting an AA, BA, or BS. If you're getting financial aid, double check every semester at the Financial Aid Office to make sure you're getting all your money.
In three sentences It just seems like typical college to me, but I like that it's cheap.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is public so anyone can walk on, but the campus police are always on duty and they make sure everyone is safe and following campus rules and regulations.
Bang for the buck The city of Fullerton is naturally a college town. By that I mean within 2 miles of Fullerton college is Cal State Univ., Fullerton, there are restaurants and bars on on almost every main street so the night life in the city is very fun and affordable, but overall the experience of college life in Fullerton is like none other. You learn how to balance your education life with your social life.
What to do for fun You will be within 7 miles of Knott's Berry farm, 10 miles of Disneyland Resort, there are bowling alleys in Fullerton and neighboring cities, miniature golf course, shopping malls and movie theaters so there is a plethora of options for you and friends to indulge yourselves in.
Food and Dining Outside of campus there are multiple restaurants within walking distance. There you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner and study for the next exam because these places also have free WIFI. On campus though I have not noticed anything yet.
Dorm Life I do not about dorm life, but there are a numerous amount of apartment complexes within a 3 mile radius of the campus.
Academic Rigor I believe they are very strict in the classroom because they care about the success level of the student. The professors care, the counselors care and they want you to follow up with them after you've registered for the classes and through out the school semester to see how you are doing. Do not try to cheat because that's just cutting your education short. expand your mind and reach for the highest grade you can get.
Tips for prospective students Talk to counselors as soon as you get accepted they want to see you succeed and grow. Complete your FAFSA because we all know that college is expensive, but worth it. become acquainted with other students because study groups are really helpful when getting ready for an exam. Go to your professors office hours because that can be the difference between getting an B+ and an A-. The professors want to see you trying to succeed in their course and if you do not understand something they are always willing to help.
In three sentences I give the school so far a 4 star rating because they show you that they want you to succeed. The counselors are very helpful and they take pride in guiding you in the right direction for your career choice. The campus' students are multicultural too, so you learn a lot about where students are from and how to appreciate the world.

Great for these types of students Fullerton College is great for students who are undecided in their major and want to take a little more time to decide what they want to do. Fullerton understands that many community college students have outside obligations, like a demanding job or family responsibilities. So take your time and truly decide for yourself.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There's a random little sheep farm on campus that's not even the property of Fullerton College but I guess its fun to watch the little baby sheep run around as you walk to class...
Bang for the buck Fullerton College is the best money saving option you have when it comes to higher education. If you don't know your major yet and want to dabble in classes to find your passion, Fullerton welcomes you. Also, many of the professors that teach at Fullerton College, also teach at surrounding 4-year universities, so you are actually getting the same quality of education from a university professor at just a fraction of the price.
What to do for fun Along with the great dining and shopping Downtown Fullerton has to offer, the nightlife is always a hot spot. From Thursday through Sunday, anytime after 10pm, DTF has tons of great bars and clubs that are always filled with the 20 something crowd. And for those who don't like the bar scene, The Maverick Theatre is also in DTF and has a $5 improv comedy show every Friday and Saturday night which is an absolute blast of a time.
Food and Dining Fullerton College is just one block from Downtown Fullerton which is overflowing with great places to eat. Wahoo's is great for some fish tacos, and Roscoe's deli can make you a killer sandwich. Along with a few sushi places and coffee shops, Downtown Fullerton is a great place to find what you're craving.
Dorm Life There are no dorms at Fullerton College because it's a community college. But we are right down the street from CSUF and there are many apartment communities in the area that are full of other college students. Also, Fullerton has just finished the completion of a full brand new college apartment complex and they welcome any and all students. Finding any sort of housing should not be a problem.
Academic Rigor Most classes at Fullerton College are fairly manageable because the professors know that community college students almost always have other obligations. Just talk to students that have already taken classes you're interested in and get some insight on what to expect. Or look online for reviews of professors and their classes. Once you've had a semester at Fullerton, you'll better understand how much you can handle.
Tips for prospective students A lot of students complain about not being able to get the classes they need because we have many students at Fullerton, and classes do fill up fast. My best advice, and this has worked for me every time, is to go to a class you couldn't get on the first day to petition for the class. Make an impression with the professor. Talk to them and tell them that you really would like to be in their class. It'll show that you are taking initiative and they will most likely allow you in the class... and then problem solved!
In three sentences Fullerton college has a lot to offer. We have a beautiful campus, great surrounding areas and many classes to take as well. Its a great place to start if you don't quite know what you're ready to do yet. Go Hornets!

What to do for fun The campus is near downtown Fullerton, so there's a fair amount of great shopping as well as places to dine at.
Food and Dining Sodexo + Jamba Juice = pretty mediocre
Dorm Life Non-existent
Academic Rigor The level of academic rigor depends on the course as well as the professor. I've personally had a number of great professors. Join the honors program!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Fullerton College has an amazing Art Department.
Tips for prospective students Take advantage of what this school offers. If you believe it is a place to skirt by without doing any work because it is a Community College, you aren't doing yourself any favors. There is alot of quality to the education and opportunities there, make good use of it.
In three sentences This is a great school for those hoping to find a career path, add to their skill sets, or challenge themselves in their area of study or industry. It is very community friendly, student focused, and very flexible. I think very highly of what they do for students and the community and believe that attitude creates the best kind of opportunity.

Categories Comments Campus Safety the campus is all around safe the people are really nice and their are always police on campus
Clubs and Activities clubs is a very good opportunity to get involved and really get a good college experience , but it can be time consuming
Great for these types of students community college is the ultimate secret to save money and get the same education, no one cares where you've studied, just make sure you end up graduating at a high end school
Bang for the buck take a trip down to the beach and save money instead of going out the moves, and learn how to cook instead of eating out everyday
What to do for fun their are several amusement parks, like Disneyland, down town Disney, the beach is always a great get away option if your trying to have fun without spending money because Disney can be pricy
Food and Dining they have plenty of food options around the community with great prices
Dorm Life I am going to dorm this upcoming august, I am exited and nervous to find out who I will be rooming with
Academic Rigor they have good set standards, and that will be helpful to be fully prepared when transferring to a Cal state
Tips for prospective students hang out with a smart set of friends always help, they do say if you hang out with slackers you will become a slacker
In three sentences I recommend Fullerton to anyone trying to get their generals out of the way, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else the neighborhood is extremely nice and the style of life is high class ,I don't like the fast life of L.A but I love L.A and Fullerton is just perfect because its in the same area but not in all the hectic traffic

What to do for fun You have many sports options and also the libraries help if you need books
Food and Dining They have a wide variety of meal options, snacks, and drinks
Dorm Life I do not live in a dorm.
Academic Rigor It's not that rigorous, it's just a lot of busy work and as long as you stay on top of all your work and take a reasonable amount of classes, you will be fine.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to stay on top of your Homework or else you will fall behind.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Lost and found. I needed it a couple of times. Very nice and organized people.
Clubs and Activities A lot of clubs to join. The school has a club day where all the clubs come out to recruit.
Great for these types of students If your unsure about the direction you want to go in your life attend community college.
Food and Dining Foods ok. The fries are delicious. The cafeteria prices are expensive so bring lunch or take a stroll to downtown Fullerton for something tasty and more affordable.
Dorm Life None.
Academic Rigor Well, college is definitely not like high school. You will have to study your butt off to the point where your eyes are bloodshot and soda becomes your best friend (mostly during finals week). Finals week is torture but the rest of the school year is okay. Homework will consist of A LOT of reading and just a few out of class assignments. Study and read every chance you get.
Tips for prospective students Its community college so they accept everyone. I highly recommend students who are unsure of the majors they want to pursue to attend a community college instead of a cal state or UC. This is a time to find yourself and really develop into a mature adult and student. SO if your unsure don't go wasting thousands of dollars, go to community college. Also, if you are interested in a study abroad program then community college is about half the coast of a prestigious school. At Fullerton College it will cost me 8,000 to go to Spain but if I was attending Cal State Fullerton than it would cost me 20,000. I'm definitely happy with my decision to go to community college first.
In three sentences I have a lot of good experiences here and the opportunities are endless. I have had great relationships with teachers and been able to keep a good G.P.A. I am now interested in joining the study abroad program for 2014.

Greek Life No greek life
Clubs and Activities I didn't participate in any
Great for these types of students Great for someone who doesn't know what they want to do yet career/major wise. Although I spent a lot of time here, I eventually discovered things I liked to do and things I was interested in.
Bang for the buck I felt like I wasted a lot of money and time here.
What to do for fun There are clubs and sports that can be participated in, and the student life is pretty welcoming.
Food and Dining The food in the cafeteria is pretty decent, just over priced for what it is.
Dorm Life We didn't have dorm life.
Academic Rigor I have only taken one class here where I felt pushed to do my work, and was genuinely interested. All other classes have been short of captivating, and most teachers don't seem engaged with students.
Tips for prospective students Have your schedules picked out before logging in to register for classes, as well as alternative schedules. Classes fill up quickly! Also get to the campus early since parking in next to impossible to find, and often times classrooms are relocated due to construction, or routes are detoured.
In three sentences The teachers here don't push students too much and their class sizes are large. Office hours are limited, and it is difficult for a working student to get time with a teacher for extra help. The campus is also extremely large, confusing, and in constant construction; which makes navigating difficult.

Categories Comments Campus Safety As a female student, I really appreciated the fact that security made their rounds in the parking lots at night.
Food and Dining Nothing too fancy. Just standard cafeteria food. No chain foods in the cafeteria, but there are many local hotspots in the nearby Downtown Fullerton.
Dorm Life There really isn't any on-campus housing, but there are plenty of apartment complexes nearby. And I have heard from other students that there are various places to rent rooms to live in.
Academic Rigor Since many students are just trying to transfer to a four-year, professors make it a point to prepare you for what universities may be like. Professors do have a tendency to take attendance, however, which I hear does not really happen at bigger universities. This could be good or bad.
Tips for prospective students Stay focused. And be weary, some of the older buildings don't have bathrooms.
In three sentences Fullerton College, in my opinion, is a standard junior college. Most people are either just trying to get an associates or are preparing to transfer. With Fullerton High School LITERALLY ACROSS THE STREET and Cal State Fullerton LITERALLY DOWN THE STREET, Fullerton College is an affordable bridge to higher education.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I never felt like I wasn't safe on campus. There always seems to be someone around from campus safety. If there's a problem they are there to help you!
Clubs and Activities There always seems to be something going on campus. However, as I mentioned earlier if you're there to do what you came to do, at times its hard to find time to squeeze in those extras but if you can it's worth it!!
Great for these types of students The library was always one of my favorite places to be. For most students it becomes a place to sleep in between classes. Overall I never encountered too many bad things about the library, it's always a place I went to complete what needed to be done.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I remember the hot dog place across the street being my little addiction at times. Along with the giant candy bars in the cafeteria.
Bang for the buck Overall my time spent at Fullerton college was a wonderful experience. I remember being so focused while I was there. I even changed my mind about what I wanted to do. I believe it's an excellent place for people to go to instead of diving into a bigger atmosphere. Why not get all the general education out of the way for a cheaper price?
What to do for fun I would highly suggest taking a few courses in something you enjoy doing. For me it was dancing. I took ballet, jazz, modern and even afro carribean while I attended Fullerton. And for me those were classes that I looked forward to in my day. I think it's important to mix in a little fun if you can into your schedule. This keeps some motivation on those days you need that extra push!
Food and Dining Fullerton college has one of the best cafeterias I have ever been in! I would always eat breakfast and lunch on campus and I was always happy. And whenever I needed a little boost in my energy there was always caffeine available!! So much variety and not too expensive!
Dorm Life I can't really talk about that too much because I lived at home the entire time. I would have to say though, if it's possible for a student to experience living on their own I would definitely give it a shot. Most times it's great to break away, even now I'm wishing I could do so. However, if your parents are allowing you to live at home while your do what's important why not?
Academic Rigor Most classes on campus are very involved. From what I remember most if not all required a lot of reading, however most teachers would provide you with some sort of study guide or study prep for you to attend so that you felt better about a test you were taking.
Tips for prospective students My biggest tip for students who are about to attend college is: it's very easy to get distracted once you've started college. The key is to stay focused in you learning. Yes! Allow yourself to have some fun and play but in moderation. The more you focus on what you came there to do, the faster you will be able to move on in life!
In three sentences Gorgeous campus to attend classes. Involved professors willing to help. A wide array of learning opportunities.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus safety is always on duty, especially in the parking structures. Remember to always have a parking permit sticker on the windshield and never park head-out!
Greek Life There is Alpha Gamma Sigma as well as Phi Theta Kappa which are honors clubs that provide scholarships and giving back to the community.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs offered at Fullerton College, and I am personally involved in the Associated Student government. The students who are involved in this are passionate about the mission of the group to represent the students and it is truly inspiring to be exposed to people like them.
Great for these types of students The campus is a smoke-free campus, so it is nice to walk around and enjoy the beauty of the campus without having to worry about second-hand smoke.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The quad is a large area where different groups of students typically meet during their breaks in between classes. The cafeteria, library, and Cadena/Transfer Center are also popular areas for students to enjoy their college afternoon breaks in between classes.
Bang for the buck The tuition, compared to four-year universities, is extremely different. The classes being taken at Fullerton are also worth every penny because the professors, from my experience, are very helpful and reliable.
What to do for fun Clubs and other student organizations are a great part of the community. The students are active and very friendly.
Food and Dining I have eaten at the cafeteria and it is average. There is a variety to choose from- from American, Mexican, and Italian cuisine. I generally pack my own lunch or eat at home because of the prices.
Dorm Life I do not dorm.
Academic Rigor Depending on the classes, academics truly varies from easy to extremely rigorous. Professors are always standing by during their office hours to assist or ask any questions regarding the course work and there are many programs available for students to succeed.
Tips for prospective students Attend class regularly. Being consistent with work ethic and study habits are necessary for any college. Although community colleges are not represented well enough to receive the credit it deserves, Fullerton College is a home to many students who hope to succeed academically.
In three sentences Fullerton College is a close community with students and faculty who grow together. The college's diverse demographics expose the students to the diverse world which they will be working with. The involvement from students and teachers are a constant motivator for those attending the college.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are many student organizations to choose from, and opportunities to start your own! The school is close to the freeways and right is the heart of downtown Fullerton where there are many shopping malls, restaurants and nightlife.
Tips for prospective students Take coursework seriously. Just because it's a JC doesn't mean it's going to be an easy A. At Fullerton College you need to face the challenges given to you.
In three sentences Fullerton College is a great place for students to learn. The faculty have excellent teaching abilities and really care for the success of their students. The faculty to student ratio is small and therefore the closer knit community allows for greater interaction between students and faculty and ultimately greater success.

Great for these types of students Downtown fullerton has many outlets for college students
Bang for the buck Yes, a high quality college.
What to do for fun Unplug a couple of times a week so you have balance with your studies.
Academic Rigor High standards from the professors is essential
Tips for prospective students Research everything about what you are going to need from the college. Make the necessary connections with the counseling office, financial aid offices, so you have everything submitted so when the semester begins, you are not distracted with miscellaneous stuff and can focus on your classes and getting the most out of your classes.

Dorm Life No dorms since this is a community college, but the apartments around don't look too bad.
Academic Rigor Steady, not too hard, but not easy either.
Tips for prospective students Plan to not get the classes you need the first time, but take other classes even if they might not be your cup of tea. You may soon find an activity or subject you love even though you've never given it a second thought beforehand.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus is well-light at night; campus safety officers are patrolling the campus and are easy to find if you need help.
Bang for the buck Community college is the way to go to save money and still earn your degree. $46/unit is nothing compared to a Cal State or a UC.
What to do for fun Downtown Fullerton has great shopping, dining, and nightlife. The first Friday of every month, Downtown Fullerton hosts the Art Walk, which is free and fun to experience.
Food and Dining Food is reasonably priced; they brew Starbucks coffee (which is a huge plus!). Food choices get very repetitive after a while; you will want to go off-campus or bring your own food to change it up.
Academic Rigor General education courses are not difficult. Simple put in the work; you get out what you put in. Professors are generally very understanding of the life of a college student.
Tips for prospective students Take a summer course, even if it is just 1 unit. They are not as competitive to get, and every unit helps to assure a better registration date.
In three sentences I love the campus, faculty, and wide variety of courses available. The honors program offers exclusive benefits with smaller, discussion-type classes for more rigorous. Being apart of this program allowed me to develop close relations with my professors.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus has been pretty safe in my experience. The parking lots are well lit and even when I leave my night classes (after 9 or 10 pm), I don't feel unsafe walking to my car.
Greek Life I do not believe FJC has fraternities or sororities.
Clubs and Activities FJC seem to get a lot of students involved and offer a wide variety of club activities, school events, and sports. A few sports or events I've seen are honor society, volunteer, sports such as football, baseball, & tennis, Dia De Los Muertos, club rushes, informational meetings, talks, etc.
Great for these types of students The type of student who values education and who is willing to try hard to learn and have fun along the way. A student who want to meet and develop lasting friendships with peers and professors.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I haven't really seen or witnessed any unusual traditions or locations on campus but I'm sure they are out there.
Bang for the buck Obtaining my college degree is definitely something that I hope to not take for granted any longer and I'm excited to be attending school and following my dream again. Even though costs have risen, FJC is a great school to get your GED's or Golden Four courses out of the way.
What to do for fun Downtown Fullerton is literally down the street and walking distance from campus! Plus, there are a lot of restaurants and coffee shops in Fullerton to drive to and hang out.
Food and Dining Stinger's Cafe has on the go snacks such as fruit, sandwiches, yogurt and serve coffee and tea which are great. The cafeteria has a salad bar and a grill for burgers which is fantastic. The staff is friendly so say hello!
Dorm Life I live off campus so I unfortunately cannot rate this department. I think FJC is more of a commuter campus.
Academic Rigor Straight A's do not come easy and a lot of work and dedication will need to be done in order to obtain high grades in all the classes. They are fun too but it all depends on your attitude.
Tips for prospective students Definitely come to the first day of class or they will drop you because there are at least 10 other students who are trying to get in and need that class. If you're trying to add a class, show up at the first day and be attentive and an active participant.
In three sentences Everyone is friendly and willing to help, the campus is pretty, and the professors are great and enthusiastic. Parking is a little tight (but which college campus isn't?) and there are plenty of street parking if there's a need. Overall, a great JC and I'm enjoying the experience of being back at school.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I haven't witnessed many issues but campus safety is great. They helped me find my lost wallet.
Clubs and Activities Two words; free food. As long as you purchase your student benefits with your ID card, you can participate in events such as these. I've also seen many used book sales on campus, which are great.
Great for these types of students This college accommodates any student. The diversity is refreshing and invigorating.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The cafe is a hidden treasure. It's squished between buildings and I was pleasantly surprised to stumble across it during my second year there. The location is just unusual.
Bang for the buck Many are complaining about the raise in price every semester but I try to resist because it's still a lot cheaper than it would be to start off at a Cal State. The food is overpriced though.
What to do for fun Since I'm the literary type I enjoy to spend my time at the library or cafe but the school also has a fun student center with arcade games and a pool table!
Food and Dining The cafeteria is overpriced but there are many great local restaurants in the same general area as the school.
Dorm Life I have not lived on campus, nor do I think that is a possibility.
Academic Rigor Though it greatly depends on the teachers, most classes I have found somewhat challenging have also been enjoyable.
Tips for prospective students The teachers you choose matter above all else. Do not go for those rumored to be obvious passes. Rather, choose the professors known to be insightful and whose classes better your mind and education.
In three sentences Fullerton College not only has a beautiful campus, but offers a wide variety of classes and student services. The faculty is most enjoyable and sympathetic with student needs. It's a wonderful learning environment and a great school overall.

Food and Dining The food in the cafeteria isn't too bad. But if you don't like cafeteria food FC is located in Downtown Fullerton where you have many options to choose from. There is also a Subway across the street.
Dorm Life No on campus living. Its a community college.
Academic Rigor Classes aren't too difficult. Teachers will tell you what you need to study and make sure that you do.
Tips for prospective students Don't loose hope if classes fill up. If you can't get the classes you need, then try petitioning for activity classes so that next year you'll have some seniority and it will be easier to register for a class. Also try registering/petitioning Career and Life Planning. Helps plan out your educational program. Most importantly, talk to a counsler first!

Tips for prospective students Make sure what you want to major on and just go for it. Discover many things if you dont know what to major in, soon you will find out.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Fullerton College has an amazing Theater Department! If you ever get the chance to star in a play you should really think about doing it! If not, then you can enjoy an amazing show as an audience member (professors sometimes assign it as extra credit anyway). Also, on campus there is an annual student open mic night. Anyone and everyone can attend and perform their own work whether it be a song, poem or short story.
Food and Dining The cafeteria on this campus has an impressive menu, but it is a little pricey. For breakfast the menu ranges from a custom salad to Belgian waffles. For lunch you cab grab a burger combo or some macaroni and cheese or even build your own sandwich. Collectively, the food is pretty good and convenient enough for when you will be spending many hours on campus.
Dorm Life There are no dorms on this campus
Academic Rigor Professors really want the best for you and they try their best to motivate you. I know that our generation doesn't like to read as much as previous ones, but I suggest that you do all of the assigned reading because as an adult you will be learning on your own from the text and attending lecture to talk about what you learned.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Behins the library there's a little cafe and it's a little hidden. No one really sits there and it's pretty chill plus it smells like coffee. Yumm!
Bang for the buck Classes are currently 45 bucks which is cheap
What to do for fun Fullerton has lots of clubs for you to join. And there's a student lounge with games and a pool table. The shopping scene on harbor blvd is really nice too.
Food and Dining There are a lot of food options at the food court but they are a bit expensive. It's very common to see people taking their own lunch. I saw a guy with a little cooler in class today. Smart guy. There's also a subway across the street. Downtown Fullerton has cute trendy places to eat too!
Dorm Life There is no dorm life here :( but lots of pretty new apartments in the nearby downtown Fullerton which is just a street over!
Academic Rigor As a freshman, professors are aware that the transition to college is difficult. Which is why they're a little flexible. But it's always depending on the classes you're taking.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to register for classes on the day your registration appointment is! Classes fill up fast. I learned the hard way unfortunately. Also parking can be a nightmare! Get to school early and be prepared to spend a little while looking for a spot.

Great for these types of students Students looking for a good college to then transfer to a 4 year school. This school has a high tranfer rate
Bang for the buck Overall a good school for what you pay.
What to do for fun Not many places to go that are walking distance. There is a place near the transfer center that has some old arcade games however.
Food and Dining I didn't use the cafeteria often so I don't have too much to say about it. The few times I visited there was not many choices. The cafeteria itself is newly built, but they could do a better job of carrying more choices.
Dorm Life Since this is a two year college, no dorm rooms available
Academic Rigor I thought it was pretty easy. Certain exemptions for a few classes, economics takes more studying than most. Overall the work load is not bad at all.
Tips for prospective students Don't wait too long after appointment to get your classes, the ideal time schedule you want for your classes could be gone otherwise.

Clubs and Activities Lots of clubs to chose from and plenty of activites
Great for these types of students Students who don't want to go to a big school or who are looking to get their AA or general education done at a great price
Bang for the buck Price per unit is incredibly lower than any other college since FC is a community college, but has the same academic level as that of a private college or university
What to do for fun The student center offers arcade games as well as pool and Foosball for a reasonable price and is a great way to stay entertained.
Food and Dining Good food, but expensive. The McDonalds down the street and the Subway directly across the street has been my best friend
Dorm Life No dorms available
Academic Rigor I'm used to tough classes from being home schooled so the level of academics isn't a whole lot harder than that from high school, but challenging none the less.
Tips for prospective students - Find any way you can to get a head, classes fill up fast and any advantage can be a big one - Talk with a counselor and know your plan so you don't waste valuable time taking classes you don't need - Work hard and don't give up, only the persistent will prosper

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is quite safe; there are various campus security strewn across the campus.
Clubs and Activities This college has a variety of different clubs available to the students. These clubs are very interactive and they usually meet at least once a month.
Bang for the buck The cafeteria will not kill your already dying wallet, which, for me, is quite reassuring.
What to do for fun The campus is very grassy so having a picnic wouldn't be out of the ordinary for a student attending this college.
Food and Dining The cafeteria has great food for reasonable prices. If, by some odd chance, you are not accustomed to cafeteria food, there are local little fast food joints around the college campus.
Academic Rigor The hardest part about the classes at this school is getting into them, after you achieved that, the classes seem to be a breeze. Also, the instructors take there time to help you with whatever it is that you happen to be struggling with.

Great for these types of students Serious ones.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Located directly accross the street from Fullerton High School.
Bang for the buck Sadly, tuition continues to rise, and as anywhere, books are ridiculous.
What to do for fun Located at an easy walking distance from downtown Fullerton, a short drive away from downtown Brea, roughly 10-15 minutes away from The Block @ Orange, and the same distance from both Knott's Berry Farm and Disneyland/Disney's California Adventure (Season passes would not be wasted).
Food and Dining The food is good, but expensive. You're better off walking to one of the many nearby restaurants and coffee shops in downtown Fullerton if you have time.
Dorm Life There are no dorms.
Academic Rigor This depends entirely on your professor and your own dedication.
Tips for prospective students To get the most out of the school, don't rate professors on how easy they are, but on how much you learn from them, otherwise you're wasting your time and money and taking a seat away from a serious student who actually cares about their education. Also, DO NOT be late for your registration appointment.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus Safety is located across from the parking structure and constantly roam the campus to enforce the no-smoking policy. The campus is generally a safe area, so arrests are very rare in this part of the city.
Greek Life The only Greek Life clubs that I know of are the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) and Alpha Gamma Sigma (AGS) honor societies that specialize in community services.
Clubs and Activities Many of the clubs are very driven and provide a lot of services and opportunities for every major and extra curricular activity. They are so involved that they even compete for the Club of the Year title every year.
Great for these types of students Fullerton College is a very diverse college that caters to the arts and sciences, traditional and non-traditional students, financial secure and broke college students, and so much more. There is definitely a place for everyone in this community college.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Several weeks each semester, the campus holds Club Rush for clubs on campus to advertise their organization to you. Many of the organizations are free and provide great experiences to meet new friends.
Bang for the buck Fullerton College charges $36 per unit, so there is no set price for part-time and full-time students. You pay for however many classes you enroll for. In addition to the tuition, there is a $18 health fee that is very affordable for people who cannot have health insurance.
What to do for fun Near Fullerton College is the well-known Downtown Fullerton. The downtown district has a lot of mom-and-pop shops like thrift stores, coffee/tea shops, bars, variety of restaurants, and more. A few minutes away is Disneyland, California Adventure, and Knott's Berry Farm for those that enjoy theme parks. Many students spend their breaks and summers going to those theme parks with their friends.
Food and Dining The cafeteria was renovated a few years ago and serves as a dining hall and venue for various campus banquets. The Spanish-style architecture and interior design is a theme among the building in the college. Their food is exclusively supplied by Sodexo, which has a variety of foods (American, Mexican, and Italian) for breakfast and lunch.
Dorm Life Fullerton College does not offer dorms, but many students rent houses or apartments in the surrounding neighborhoods.
Academic Rigor Once students have reached the 200-level courses in their respective fields, the classes become more specialized and detailed. At this point, Fullerton College faculty and staff begin to prepare their students to be ready to transfer to a 4-year institution with a great workload and harder material. Unlike a university, the professors at Fullerton College provide students with more attention.
Tips for prospective students Prospective science, technology, engineering, and math majors are especially encouraged to join the Engage in STEM and Science Club organizations to take advantage of the scholarships, internships, field trips, and volunteer work they offer.
In three sentences Fullerton College is an outstanding community college for students who wish to transfer to a 4-year university. Their transfer center, Engage in STEM program, and Science Club are only some of the many organizations that transfer students can become a part of to further enhance their college careers in the science, technology, engineering, and math fields. The staff and faculty are especially helpful in guiding their students to the right path.

Food and Dining If you don't eat on campus, there are several good places by campus. Sonic is right down the street. Subway is right across the street. The best little hotdog place is also across the street next to Subway.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I've always felt pretty safe on campus. Even wandering in back alleys and alone on the ledges of high buildings as I'm wont to, I've never had trouble. The campus police are always zooming around.
Greek Life Nope. Junior college is a little too junior, unless the honors societies count? Phi Theta Kappa and Alpha Gamma Sigma are both very active on campus.
Clubs and Activities Tons of them, everywhere. There's usually monthly fairs in the Quad where the cosmetology department has a discount day out in the sun and the booths for different clubs and causes go up, and someone blasts terrible pop music. There are honors societies and ethnic clubs and volunteer clubs and music clubs and sports for anyone and everyone.
Great for these types of students Any type. I'm an overachiever and I'm happy, my not-as-education-fond friends are also pretty happy. Fullerton College is the sort of place where a lot of people are building or rebuilding themselves and trying to make a life they can enjoy.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Hmm. Well, there's some construction going on right now which makes for plenty of odd hidey holes, but otherwise nothing too unusual.
Bang for the buck Fantastic! I really can't say anything bad about this school because it's been a godsend. I love it!
What to do for fun The same as anywhere else I imagine. There are clubs and societies, for those interested; there are malls and shopping centers all over with plenty of gyms, clubs, and community centers besides. If you want to do it, you can probably find it in Orange County.
Food and Dining I love the chicken strips from the dining hall grill! There's plenty of variety in those little restaurants for any craving and there's a smaller, but just as nice, cafe on the other end of campus. The food off-campus is great, too - just wander downtown Fullerton.
Dorm Life No dorms, I'm afraid, but there are cheap apartments and flatshares all over.
Academic Rigor I'm kind of a difficult judge of this - my high school was above average and I was often above average there, so college in general is pretty easy - but I've felt the academics here were rigorous enough to keep me semi-busy and stress many of my classmates.
Tips for prospective students Do it! Go, even just to get as many classes done in two years as you can before transferring. FC has a TAG agreement with most of the UCs in the state, so you've actually got a better chance of transferring to the school you want if you keep a strong GPA. The great teachers and the amount of money you save doesn't hurt either!
In three sentences A fantastic and economic education. I have been impressed by every single teacher I've had and the financial aid is more than helpful with such low costs for in-state students. The people and systems have also been very friendly about my many questions.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Going the community college route before going to a university is a great deal. Most classes transfer to UC and USC systems, so you get a lot of bang for the buck.
What to do for fun There is a lot fun activities on campus, such as club rush or college transfer day. The campus brings in little boutique type places to come and advertise, which is great because you can shop while you have that two hour break between classes. Also there are lots of shops and eateries in downtown Fullerton, so if you ever have a day off, walk around harbor its a blast if you have never been.
Food and Dining The campus cafeteria was recently re done and is very large to accommodate for all it's students. There are also many small cafe type shops to grab a quick bite, or a large coffee before class.
Dorm Life There aren't any dorms on campus, but there are a lot of off campus housing, such as houses or apartments for rent.
Academic Rigor The academic rigor at Fullerton College, honestly isn't very competitive, somewhat easy when you've acquired time management.
Tips for prospective students My tips for prospective students would have to be to use every aspect of the campus. For instance the library and it's staff are always helpful. The transfer center is another part of the campus that is a must, there are so many people there working to help you make an easy transition to the college of your dreams.
In three sentences A great school to find what you really want to pursue a career in. The academic staff really encourages and help you through the community college journey. There are also many utilities offered to help make your path to graduate or transfer easy and worry free.

Categories Comments What to do for fun They have a rec room where there is a pool table, card tables and video games. They also allow students to bring their own gaming system to plug into the big screen TV. The quad is spacious enough to allow games of Frisbee or football to happen, or even for a group of people to get together and play music. Around the corner from the campus is downtown Fullerton. There are vintage stores, music stores, clothing stores, different coffee shops, and lots of restaurants to choose from.
Food and Dining It isn't gourmet dining, but it is still good. There is a wide selection of beverages as well as snacks and actual meals. They have different areas for different ethics of food to fill the hunger need for every student. They have a large dining area indoors and a small patio for students to eat outside on nice days.
Academic Rigor The counselors want to make sure you are not taking classes that are a distraction from your GED or AA/AS. When you have a meeting with them, they waste no time getting down to business; they ask you what your goals are and try (if not ) meet them with a step by step plan. Teachers make sure each student is passing their course, if they feel they are getting behind they will approach the student and work out a way for them to catch up. Teachers will accommodate to the students needs. For example, if the students are not ready to move onto the next chapter, the teacher will spend a little extra time on that topic to make sure the students fully understand it.
Tips for prospective students Do not be afraid to get to know your teacher and ask for help. Fullerton College provides so many opportunities for you to be successful. The teachers will spend extra time with their students after hours to help in the areas of struggling. They have an AMAZING library filled with any books needed to help with research or recreational. The library staff is very helpful and you can ask them any question and without fail, they will answer it.
In three sentences Fullerton College is providing me with an environment filled with well educated teachers, open and friendly students and a quad that is comforting and relaxing for every student. Each semester, teachers give all they can to make sure Fullerton College students succeed in not only their classes, but in all of their classes by being encouraging in their students studies. The quad is a great place to catch up on studies and to meet new people; there is enough room for everyone!

Categories Comments Campus Safety They made sure parking was in control, however, if there was an actual problem... they were not very helpful. Several cars get stolen each semester, they do not notify campus nor help in investigation. This is very poor practice at FC as well.
Greek Life nonexistent
Clubs and Activities poor
Great for these types of students As an engineering student... Math departments had some great and horrid instruction. Similarly, the physics department was in the same situations. The dean in these departments has to take more actions, how can you have a retention rate of 10% and still be a teacher? Welcome to FC......
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus This is a nonsmoking campus, whether you were a smoker or not, everyone knew several smoking spots which smokers congregated to.
Bang for the buck I was working part time, which qualified me for Board of Governors Waiver, but not FAFSA. I had to work for my books and parking pass, which were cheap if you were resourceful.
What to do for fun Make friends with classmates in your area of interests, which kept me sane at this school.
Food and Dining Food is the same every week.... The coffee they serve is Starbucks with complimentary Coffee Mate -- not a campus Starbucks, but sure did the job at bargain price.
Dorm Life none
Academic Rigor The school can be very challenging in certain departments. Be particular in which professors you plan to take. They will make you or break you. My classes were in advanced mathematics and physical sciences. The last semester, I took 17 units, worked 30 hrs a week, and fathered my daughter. I managed a 3.5 taking physics 222, math 250b, chemistry 107, and ethnics 101.
Tips for prospective students Stay determined, be resourceful, and take initiative.
In three sentences Fullerton College is not a college that holds your hand, and similar to many colleges has its bad apples. If you have a lot of determination and become resourceful, then you can transfer to a great UC or CSU easily. My academic skills have greatly improved during my 3 years here, and genuinely appreciate many professors here at FC.

Categories Comments What to do for fun For me, I played volleyball and basketball in high school and I enjoyed it very much. So for fun at Fullerton, I took PE classes such as volleyball.
Food and Dining The food offered in the cafeteria, is pretty tasty and delicious. The only problem: prices are pretty high!
Dorm Life Unfortunately, Fullerton is just a two-year college and the dorm life is non-existent.
Academic Rigor For me, the academic rigor is not as high as I would have expected college to be. But I'm not saying this because Fullerton is a horrible school, I am only saying this because the high school I came from, Oxford Academy, was very academically rigorous which really prepared me for the college life.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to always stay on top of things. Because the campus is so lively, it is easy to get carried away with making friends and just hanging out. Also, make sure to keep in constant contact of a counselor to figure out what would be the best thing to do for the upcoming semester.
In three sentences Fullerton college is a very lively campus. There is always something going on in the quad and everybody is so friendly. I love being on campus just because its such a fun and active environment.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The Campus Safety at FC is superb! They constantly monitor the campus to maintain everyone's safety and never have to be told twice to assist a person.
Greek Life -Alpha Gamma Sigma -Phi Theta Kappa -Lambda Society
Clubs and Activities -Alpha Gamma Sigma, official Honors society -Phi Theta Kappa -Science, Technology, and Engineer Majors Program -Honors Program -TAP Program -Puente Program -FC Hornet Staff - Associated Students of FC -ICC -Cadena Transfer/ Cultural Center -Science Club -Speech and Debate
Great for these types of students FC is great for all types of students. You don't have to be a somebody to partake in receiving an education at Fullerton College. All a person needs is a desire to learn and a willingness to grow intellectually.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There's an annual Halloween costume contest in October, which brings out all the creative and brave individuals front and center! The chalk drawing contests on the sidewalks of the Quad allows you to view intricate works of art at ease for no cost!
Bang for the buck This campus is a bang for your buck! There are so many positive advantages at Fullerton College, including financial assistance, that outweigh any negative aspects and thus makes enrollment at FC worthwhile.
What to do for fun What is there not to do for fun at Fullerton College? This is a fun-filled campus- with new events occurring in the Quad every day! There's Nite Life for those with evening classes to enjoy music and engage in conversation, there's annual events such as Worldfest, contests, musical/ theatrical performances, sport games to watch, etc.- every day brings a new reason to enjoy being on campus!
Food and Dining FC provides great food at affordable prices ($1-$10 on average, depending on the size of meal- snack, lunch, etc.). The dining hall is spacious and inviting, while the Stinger's Cafe is much smaller and cozy. There are both indoor and outdoor seating areas, perfect for whichever dining experience you wish to choose.
Dorm Life Fullerton College does not provide housing. However, there are always posts of affordable housing options for on the campus publicity walls.
Academic Rigor I give Fullerton College a 10 on academic rigor. Each professor has their own grading criteria, etc.- but each one strives to motivate their students to achieve success. FC's Faculty members are extremely helpful in every way possible. Classes aren't too big- not anywhere near 100 + students at least- so students are able to connect with their peers and engage in the course more effectively. Most courses are CSU/ UC certified (transfer eligibility), and/ or provide vocational certification, relate to AA/AS degree requirements, or fufill prerequisite requirements for intended major.
Tips for prospective students 1. Enroll in classes you know you will enjoy: Make sure to read full course description to ensure your happiness in the class and personal interest within the class subject. -2. Become involved. Join Honors, STEM, Puente, TAP, clubs, sports, theatre, etc. - whichever suits your goals in life. Not only does it look great on resumes, transcripts, scholarship and UC applications- but it can help you reach your full potential! 3. Ask for help when needed. There is no such thing as a dumb question (Unknown source). If you want to know more about features at FC, such as tutoring opportunities, how to become involved in AGS, or even where a building is located- make sure to ask others if you have trouble finding out yourself. You'll be surprised at how much more information you'll find out other than the original the question you had asked, such as information about studying abroad or job internships in your field of study. You will never know how much information a person will relay until you ask for help. There are plenty of people in this world you are willing to assist others; please keep this in mind. 4. Do not damage Fullerton College property. Littered trash, stealing FC property, graffiti, etc.- does not belong at such an amazing campus as FC. School is a place to learn and become involved- please be respectful of the hard work people put into this school. Everything from the architecture to the landscaping took an immense amount of time energy to create. 5. Visit a counselor. Request to see one that specializes in your major and/ or program affiliation (TAP, etc). If you cannot find the answers you were looking for, visit the building related to the field of study and ask whomever is available (Ex: Question about UCs that the counselor couldn't answer? Visit Transfer Cadena Center). 6. Check Fullerton College's Pages Daily. Check the FC website, their Facebook page, and any other FC-associated links that pertain to your academic goals. Their pages are consistently updated and can provide you with deadlines, news, etc. that can further enrich your days at Fullerton College. 7. Email, Email, Email. When in doubt about who to contact at Fullerton College, email it out. Email professors about waiting lists to petition, email program leaders to arrange a meeting to enlist in an academic program at FC, email to check the possibilities of a job on campus etc.- utilize your Email access in a professional manner whenever necessary. Practice proper online etiquette rules (How to address yourself, etc.) to remain courteous and professional at all times.
In three sentences I rate Fullerton College a 10 because I feel it provides so many wonderful opportunities for its students. It has a perfect location, beautiful environment/ architecture, amazing array of class offerings, extremely helpful professors/ staff, and makes sure to provide academic and career-oriented advantages for all its students. It is a 2-year college that can help unlock the doors of a bright future for all FC students.

It is eato meet new people in these clubs networking becomes big when being a member in these clubs it help you make lots of friends and college life more pleasurable. i strongly recommend joining a club for fun because it opens doors to the college life.
Food and Dining Fullerton College has great food and a great dining area with many option on The table. The choices of food vary from Italian to Mexican to some Asian cuisine, it as well offfers a large elegants cafeteria with a friendly staff who always keep stuff clean and on check never does one see a dirty floor or table or something missing.
Dorm Life I do not dorm beacuse of my location which is only six miles away from school, although many foreign exchange students would live across the street in some good looking apartments like the area itself. I am not sure if the college offers dorms here.
Academic Rigor Fullerton College has some great proffesors who are extremely knowledgable on their teaching. Also there are many helpfull sites in the school that help like for example the tutoring center, writing center, and the math lab which man students find extremely helpfull. Taking advantage of these centers will make your studies much easier.
Tips for prospective students The best advice for students who really want to prospect and achieve their goals quicker would be always pay attention. The word attention equals the word learning it is as simple as that, if one pays attention one learns and does great in school.

Categories Comments Campus Safety campus safety is found just about everywhere. the school itself is safe during the day but at night it can seem a bit sketchy because it gets pretty empty. campus safety however is very strict about parking and will ticket you for anything possible whether it is dropping someone off on the side, stopped in a handicap, or if its the first day required for parking permits they will find you and write the ticket.
Greek Life there is no greek life unfortunately.
Clubs and Activities there are many clubs on campus and club rush is a big thing. they will have loud music playing, clubs have their booths set up in the quads and have activities going on all day long. it makes a good study break.
Great for these types of students if you are looking to save money, and take more than ge classes or even classes for fun then this is your place.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus a quiet place to study is in the lower level of the science building outside of the professor's offices. this is where there are tables and chairs set up as well as cubicles with electrical outlets which you can plug your laptop into. the library can be loud at times which is why i preferred the science building.
Bang for the buck nowhere else will you be able to pay 500 dollars for one semester and be a full time student, parking, and some of those classes including sciences. it is difficult to get classes because of budget cuts but you have to be consistent, showing up to class and staying in contact with the professor. the classes that you are taking, make sure you can handle the load because it can be annoying when by the end of the semester over half of the classes have dropped because they could not handle the class and students that could have succeeded were not able to enroll because it was full.
What to do for fun there is not that much to do for fun on campus but locally there is downtown fullerton which is in walking distance from the school. whether you want to study in a cafe, get a drink, something to eat, or shop you will be able to do it in downtown fullerton. expanding outside of fullerton the beach is 30 minutes away, brea mall is 10 minutes, and there is movie theaters locally.
Food and Dining the food in the cafeteria is good but can get pricey because you have to use cash to pay. i like the salad bar, the sandwiches and a small cup of coffee before a long lecture.
Dorm Life there is no dorm life on campus because it is a 2 year college and most students live at home or locally.
Academic Rigor ge classes are sometimes fun, and everyone has to take them so some professors try to keep the class interesting and fun. if a science or math major, you will want to spend a lot of time in your professor's office because the classes will get tough once you get into higher levels (bio 272, math 150a, anat 231, etc). but they will be willing to help you.
Tips for prospective students when going through the counseling office, be careful because sometimes they may have you take classes that you really don't need which happened to me. if you are ever confused or not sure of something in a class, go to the professor's office hours and talk with them because most professors enjoy when they see students putting in the effort to do well and know their professors. when ordering transcripts, do it online and then call in the next few days to follow up with the transaction to make sure that they had been sent out. it is much cheaper to finish as many pre-req's and ge classes here before moving on, i strongly suggest it and my professors were awesome and helpful that i had!
In three sentences the classes are good and professors are helpful if you show them you are putting in the effort to do well. the buildings are nice due to recent construction and classes are nice. my sciences (anatomy, physio, micro) all small class sizes (27 students for lab) which is nice other classes such as ge classes are much larger.

Clubs and Activities their are many clubs and activities to join here, your fullerton college experience would not be compete without thees. there are many clubs and activities to join like the tap program (transfer achievement program) but, i cant just say them all right here for you must come and see for yourself.
Great for these types of students fullerton college is a great place for anybody, anywhere. my parents always told me how important it was to get a college education. i never payed much attention to them about it. however, i have began to witness many changes in our world, everyday we get more and more sophisticated and advanced. the world is demanding more and more from us then ever before. the majors that we worked so hard for is just simply not enough anymore. it was then that i realised how right my parents were i must work harder then they did in thier time. i know community college is not for everybody, but going to fullerton college for me, is the place for the types of students who want to follow the path of the future.
Bang for the buck fullerton college charges $36 per unit and a health fee $17 and course fee and parking fee not too bad, there are other colleges that charge much more then this. don,t forget to ask for financial aid, it really helps you a lot. fullerton college is surly going to be a big bang for your buck guaranteed or your money back
What to do for fun fullerton college has many locations to have fun. the college may be big but the fun parts are not too hard to find. the fullerton football field is a great place to have fun and to blow off some steem from classes, you could play football, soccer running on the track and pole vaulting and the field is open to anybody. there is also the student center lounge, its located right next to the dinning room. there, you can play video games, shoot pool and watch big screen tv or simply relaxing with friends. there is also many exiting clubs to join.
Food and Dining fullerton college has a large dining room that accommodates many students. they have a food court that serves fresh custom-made food like hamburgers, sandwiches and burritos that's served hot and delicious, prepared by our finest chefs. there is also a cafe on campus called the stingers cafe.
Dorm Life fullerton college does not have housing for students weep, weep , however, there are apartment complexes just off campus that students could rent for cheap.
Academic Rigor founded in 1913, fullerton college (formally known as fullerton junior college) is the oldest and largest community college in california. fullerton college has a yearly enrollment of 22,014 students. student life here is mostly clam and quite. fullerton college is known for being the highest ranked transfer institution in california to have more students transferring to universities of california and california state universities. but, i am just sayin
Tips for prospective students fullerton college is the best place to go if you want to reach your academic goals. fullerton college has seen many years of academic success, and prospective students like you will enjoy the benefits of a quality education and while having fun at the same time. what are you waiting for? come be apart of this long tradition of academic success. there is just one rule you must follow when enrolling at fullerton college: once a hornet, always a hornet.

Categories Comments Campus Safety i feel safe walking around fullerton college at night and during the day. it' surrounded by a very active downtown with lots of people and quaint older neighborhoods.
Clubs and Activities there is an amazing amount of club activity at fullerton college. they have club day where you can sign up and the organizations do things all year long. they hold performances during the day and at night and are always avaiable and friendly.
Great for these types of students students who aren't completely sure of what school they want to attend or what major they want to be. 95% of students change their mind in college of what they want to do. this gives you a financially friendly education while you get to experience what works for you or not.
Bang for the buck i've paid such a reasonable amount for the schooling i have gotten. you get a great education for more than half the price of a 4 year institution. i would seriously recommend fullerton college if you aren't dead set on your major or what school you want to go to. you get the same g.e. classes for 1/4 of the price.
What to do for fun there are a great amount of organizations, sports teams and clubs you can get involved with. downtown fullerton is located near by with an eclectic feel and plenty of places to meet new people and have a good time.
Food and Dining great cafeteria and good food and some what reasonable prices!
Tips for prospective students if you are unsure about where you want to go fullerton college is a great place to feel around what you like and where you want to go. they have a wonderful transfer center and are always there to help.
In three sentences wonderful looking campus. overall helpful and innovative teachers. many programs and clubs that are not offered at other schools.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Fullerton College is great for all types of students. From 16-year-old high school students taking classes to rapidly advance their education, to senior citizens going back to school to finish their education, it is a very diverse school and offers many types of programs. The flexibility of choosing your own schedule allows students to either go to the really early morning classes, or stay up late with the night owls. If you learn at a slow pace, FJC is a cheap and easy way to take your time through school at your own pace. You can take a one-unit class, or 19 units per semester (not suggested…I didn’t get much sleep the one time I did this). If you work full time, you can easily pick and choose times that work with your schedule. Overall, I’d say Fullerton really caters to the all types of students and gives an incredible educational experience. It has many clubs including speech and debate (forensics), science clubs, math clubs, writing clubs, clubs for religious and/or ethnic groups, art club (really cool group of people!), theater/drama club, music clubs, ASB, sports clubs, and much more. Any kind of student can easily fit in at this school, or take classes to fit into their busy schedule. It’s really a great school for anyone, no matter their age, gender, ethnicity, or level of education.
Tips for prospective students If you’re taking an early morning class (7:30 or 8:00am class), don’t buy the parking permit. There’s always adequate parking on the streets and in the neighborhoods south of Chapman (the neighborhood to the north of Berkley and Chapman has signs posted saying you can’t park there now). Walking is good exercise and can help wake you up before your class starts. Sit up front so you don’t get distracted and can easily pay attention to what your professor is saying. You’ll be glad you did when finals roll around. Join a study group…these may be the very people to save your life on an important test, midterms, finals, or group projects. If you’re petitioning a class and there’s no room and a waiting list, sit in the front, talk to the teacher before and after class, stay all the way through the class (even when the professor says you can leave after signing your name on the wait list), and keep coming until a spot opens up. Students tend to drop classes like hot potatoes in the third week or so of the semester. Just bide your time and be patient. Do the homework. Don’t cheat. Have fun.
Bang for the buck $26 per unit...need I say more? Considering the cost of tuition at Fullerton College is so cheap, one would expect the education or overall college experience to be less than satisfactory. However, the opposite is the case. The teachers and faculty are a joy to converse with, very helpful, they actually love what they do, and they’re extremely eager to help students reach their full potential. Despite the 24,000 students on campus, each teacher still takes the time to try to get to know their students on a personal level. Even when the school experienced budget cuts, the students and tuition never seem to suffer from it. The school itself has actually been expanding with a recent addition to the science building. Parking permits cost a whopping $36 per semester, which is a bargain at any other school in the USA. Fullerton starts earlier and finishes later than most schools, giving the students ample opportunity to take classes nice and easy while still receiving a spectacular academic experience. As the oldest community college in California, FJC knows what it’s doing…and it does it well at an ridiculously inexpensive cost to students.
Am enjoying being here Besides all of the information-rich classes I've been taking here, FJC is just a fun college to be at. The campus is beautiful, the students are friendly, and the professors are warm and welcoming. Also, against all odds, the cafeteria serves good food! I've made some really great friends here and have had so much fun over the past two years. The central location of the school also affords students the opportunity to go out and explore many different options in food, entertainment, and activities. Fullerton is about 10 minutes away from Disneyland (a place where friends from school and I have spent many hours hanging out), 20 minutes away from the beach, and walking distance to student favorites such as Starbucks, Chipotle, Subway, McDonald’s, Pick-Up-Stix, Yogurtland, Panera, Chicago Harv's, KFC, Pinkberry, Thai Basil, Wahoo’s, and many more. The environment on campus always consists of students chattering excitedly, warm Southern California weather, various school activities, and people rushing to and from classes. It is definitely a very fun place to be. I also absolutely loved being on the speech and debate team (forensics) and won several awards for the school. This goes for all clubs and activities readily available on campus. I've made some great friends through forensics and enjoyed every minute I've been at this school.
Am learning a lot I absolutely love this school. I've taken Basic Drawing for Non-art Majors, Math, History of Women in the United States, Sociology 101, English 103 Logic and Critical Thinking, Music Appreciation, Nutrition, Spinning (indoor cycling), Japanese, English 100, Astronomy, and many more classes at FJC. All of them have taught me so much about education, specific fields of study, applying myself academically, discipline, academic honesty, perseverance, and life in general. I have yet to take a class that I don't like. All of the learning experiences I've had have made me a stronger, more diligent student. It has also cultivated a passion for learning that I don’t believe I could have encountered in another environment. I’m definitely learning a lot at this school.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students I used to think that community college is for rejects and people that didn't take school seriously, but I was blown away by the vast number of motivated and diligent students that I met. And while I won't deny I have bumped into the occasional partiers, I am still surrounded by hard-working and intelligent students that work just as hard as I do, if not more and have 4.0 GPA's. If you want to get a higher education and you can't afford it, this is the school for you, and you can be rest assured that you will find good, hard-working friends and others that love and know how to have fun!
Tips for prospective students Study hard. This college has so many opportunities for you to shine and to transfer to amazing schools, EVEN ON THE EAST COAST. Get good grades and join the Honors Program. You won't regret it. Get involved on campus and join one of the hundred clubs offered here. Don't forget to do community service and apply for alot of scholarships - there are many offered for community college students, even after graduation. Take advantage of everything on campus, including the Transfer Center, the Tutoring Center, the counselors, and the library. They are all amazing resources. Do not forget to go to all of your professor's office hours. It will do you a world of good.
Bang for the buck I just did a search online and found that it costs $36 per unit to attend Fullerton College. I didn't even know this. Why, you ask? Because I don't pay for school/tuition! I qualified for the Board of Governors' Fee waiver so I am going to college for free. Pretty amazing huh? On top of that I had a high GPA in high school so I qualified for a Cal Grant, so I'm getting paid close to $3,000 TO GO TO SCHOOL. That's right. I get PAID to go to school. I have also won $1,600 in scholarships from the Fullerton College Scholarship Foundation that I didn't even end up using because I didn't need it so that money went straight to buying textbooks and other materials, i.e. art supplies, dance shoes, etc. (SIDE NOTE: Textbooks are VERY expensive. This semester I spent close to $400 on textbooks ALONE.) So make sure to apply for financial aid, scholarships, and spend the money wisely because you will need it!
Am enjoying being here I love the professors here. Many of them have come from interesting and prestigious backgrounds and many of my professors, past and current, have Doctorates. It is very easy to make friends in class and people are very relaxed and helpful.
Academic Rigor I've been here since Summer 2009, and all I can say about this college is that I love it. I've taken art/dance history classes, business classes, music, oceanography classes and so much more! This college offers so many wonderful classes but most importantly I am learning so much while I have fun! The professors really care about all of their students, and because some classes are so small, you can work with them one on one. My experience has been amazing here and I am learning more at this college than in high school!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you're struggling financially then this is the place to go. Don't be ashamed because its, according to some people, not a real college, a community college is the same as any other education. Also if you're not sure what you want to do with your life and want to take things slow, there's no pressure here. Only people backing up your every decision.
Tips for prospective students If you're not sure what you want to major in, community college is the place to start. If you have interests than go after them, take fun classes and you might be surprised how well the field pays if you choose to make it a career. Make college your own, and don't let anyone dampen your memories.
Bang for the buck The prices is one of the main reasons why I decided to attend Fullerton College. Its a cheaper price for the same gosh darn degree! Most people qualify for financial aid anyway so its double the help... I don't know why you would want to start out spending a hundred dollars per unit... that's crazy talk!
Am enjoying being here Starting out at a community college was the best decision I ever made. Everyone has dreams and goals that it helps you push yourself even harder to succeed. Even how beautiful the buildings look make you feel like a hard working adult! Its great!
Am learning a lot You need to commit yourself to your education as much as your professors commit themselves to teaching you. There are tons of opportunities for help that its impossible NOT to learn!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Great for all students! Fullerton College has a wide variety of subjects for all Majors.
Bang for the buck Classes here are cheap and worth it. The amount of knowledge you gain is way worth the $26 per unit!
Am enjoying being here The students here are all friendly and are all easy to be around. The campus is easy to traverse as well, leaving you plenty of time to walk from class to class.
Am learning a lot Here at Fullerton College you're able to learn a wide variety of different subjects. As for myself, who is learning his ways to have a career Computer Engineering, I've gained a great amount of knowledge in just a few semesters!
