Keep in mind that it is a small school, and thus not a lot of drama happens there. You do, however, learn a lot about writing and math and history. If you are not into the quiet close-knit schools and do not enjoy the atmosphere of friendly people who would love to help you in any way they can, then Gaston College may not be the right fit for you.

Sign up for FAFSA and work study, even if you think you wouldn't receive it. For classes, just complete your assignment and you won't fail. Also, take the opportunity to take some online classes. Last, but not the least is try the butterfinger coffeee! Its awesome!

If you have classes especially when the semester begins always get there almost an our early. If you don't you will not be able to find much if any parking near where you need to be at for your class. Some of the counselors are not very good at their job, but there are some that are amazing. Also, I would like to beware that if you get some scholarships, for instance the NC Educational Lottery, you may not get all of the money that was originally promised to you. Be aware that if you use financial aid to not use all of it at Gaston even if you change your major. I would highly recommend that if you are just wanting to transfer to another college to get a Associates in the Arts or Sciences.

Students who plan on attending Gaston College should know that this is a community college. Typically students who attend community colleges come to class and leave directly afterwards. They never take the time to explore the campus or its many clubs and opportunities that are available to them. My advice is to use your campus resources and find out what is available to you.
