There are many things to do here at Mason, depending on what you are interested in. I am in a couple of Engineering clubs on campus as well as being involved in Greek life, a sorority, here on campus. I have friends who are on the Mason dance team, Mason D1 sports teams, club sport teams, and many more clubs. There is definitely something for everyone here at Mason no matter what you like, and if there isn't you can start your own club.

Joining clubs, teams, and/or groups are always fun as well as joining Greek life. And, when you want a break from campus, you can always hop on a shuttle and take it to the mall or to a train station and head to DC. The best thing to do is definitely gather a bunch of friends and explore.

You're 20 minutes from DC! The greatest city on earth! Seriously, live it up. There are also fun shows and programs going on constantly in the Johnson Center, and sporting events are fun even when the Mason teams don't win.

The campus holds many different events, whether it's a student organization hosting the event or outside businesses using the Eagle Bank Arena. Flyers are posted all over campus for many events held on campus.

Washington D.C. is a bus ride away. You can visit monuments or go party. Fairfax, VA is a nice cute neighborhood with plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars nearby.

There several shuttles on campus, one which goes to the metro--which you can take to DC, and there's obviously a lot to do in the city--and other which goes to Fair Oaks mall, Fairfax Corner (movie theater, Chipotle, and a few other places), and Fair Lakes (Walmart, Target, and other big, well-known stores). There is also a Cue bus that GMU students can use for free if they show their Mason ID, and it takes you all around Fairfax. In addition to that, University Mall, which includes Giant and a super cheap movie theater, are within walking distance. If students have a car, there's obviously a world of options they can choose from, but even students who have to resort to the metro have quite a bit to do, starting with adventures in DC.

Everyone says this, but go to D.C.! It really is a fun way to spend a day, and there's always something new to see. The Metro can also take you to places such as Tysons Corner up to southern Maryland. Exploring Fairfax is also a great choice, and there is Fair Lakes shopping center, Fair Oaks mall, and other areas accessible by the shuttle or CUE bus. If you want to stay on campus, join a club! Mason has clubs for all interests: there are religious groups, vocal ensembles, Ultimate frisbee teams, politically affiliated groups, and so much more. And whatever you choose, you should attend at least one basketball game!

I often go out to DC, Fairfax corner, Fair Lakes, Fair Oaks, Tysons Corner, etc. All these areas are available by shuttle bus, cue bus, or metro.
