Founded in 1852, Gordon State College is a public institution located in the rural town of Barnesville, Georgia. It is a member of the University System of Georgia and home to several athletic facilities that  include walking trails, racquetball courts, and a ropes course. The school provides a curriculum rooted in service to the community. Many students choose to study nursing, liberal arts and humanities, or human services.

Come to this place if you indeed want to feel at home. This college is the heart of the community and the heart will always be well treated and cared for. Great professors who are down to earth and can relate well with their students and grat people so friends can be made that will last a lifetime. Gordon is a good way to start off as a freshman for those who do not obtain a high gpa or nervous about college in general.It isn't that big of a school .However, Gordon is not so much as an easy school but it can be very challenging.In addition, Gordon offers a preview of what a University could actually be like.
