If graceland is where you want to go than go for it. But I personally would not put my child through what my sister chid went through. For a college that is said to have credits that are transferrable is a joke. I know tons of students who have applied to UNI or ISU and so forth and even out of state. Unfortunately they were not accepted because of GU credits. Future students I would really think about what you want and if Gu is really the right place for you. Tuition is always going up and half the teachers really do not care. To see my niece go through the struggle of getting into a a 4 year college after she already spent 3 years at this University. Breaks my heart. Now she has to change everything she has ever worked for.

This is a difficult school to transfer in and out of. All of their classes are unique to their MAJOR programs. So not all your classes will transfer easily. It's really difficult to live off campus, I personally don't know why you would want to considering the amazing system it is, but consider this in advance. If you want to live off campus you need to get approval before you arrive on campus in the fall.

The academics are really good but the sports teams not so much. Make sure that you are ready to know everyone and have everyone know you.

Take courses that interest you and sit in the front of the class for at least a week during the semester. Most importantly, know that your professors are there to help (Really!!). That sounds so cliche, but don't be afraid to reach out to them whether you're confused in their course or you're having other troubles. You'd be surprised at the amount of understanding and personal compassion the faculty at GU has to offer, I know I was.
