Founded in 1846, Grinnell College is a private liberal arts college located in rural Iowa. The Conard Environmental Research Area and several buildings on the National Register of Historic Places can be found on the college’s campus. The school is dedicated to sustainability with housing and an Athletic Center that collects rainwater for recycling, a dining hall that composts its own food and paper waste, and a Science Center with a rainwater-irrigated greenhouse. The admissions process is rigorous and has been deemed “most selective.”
