    Campus Safety

We always have security lurking and making sure that the students are safe. There have been plenty of times were people have lost expensive items and gotten them back within a couple of days. It's also not easy getting inside without proper I.D. They will ask you to sign in before you enter. Tourist have tried to enter the school believe it or not but security will not allow them any further regardless if they want to take a look around. So no worries, you're in good hands.

    Clubs and Activities

We have plenty to choose from, just come to a club fair to meet some of the club executives and members.

Great for these types of students

All types of students from different walks of life.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

We have a cultural food fair every year so the we can literally taste the diversity. That will be one of the many days the school will come together and enjoy campus life.

    Bang for the buck

$1 pizza $5 Halal Food $1 Buttered Bagel $1 Coffee $5 Bacon, Egg & Cheese Anywhere that takes college discounts!

    What to do for fun

Bryant Park is right across the street so their park events are always open to the public. The main perk that we have is that we get a discount when we go ice skating so take advantage of that and go shred so ice! Do keep in mind you're in NYC so there are plenty of things to do like Broadway shows that the school will provide tickets for every now and then. Midtown Manhattan has a lot to offer so grab a friend and have some fun.

    Food and Dining

There are plenty of places to eat but because we're in Midtown Manhattan things can get pricey. The one thing you'll always here the students talk about is the $1 pizza around the corner or the food carts where you can get some cheap breakfast and lunch for under $6.

    Academic Rigor

Like many students your first year is going to be a little challenging. So stay focused and use all of the tutoring aids that we offer. We even have our academic peer mentors sit in once a week so that they are also in tune with the work you're doing. You can always use our quiet room if it's hard to concentrate around your friends. This school has some heavy coursework so don't let procrastination get the best of you.

    Tips for prospective students

We have plenty of opportunities here so don't be afraid to have questions. If there is a club you want that we don't have yet just ask for an application to start it yourself. The school does have a Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society called Beta Phi Gamma. Being apart of this honor society will allow you to get extra scholarship money for when you transfer. All you need is a 3.5 and you qualify to get in. The HUB is extremely helpful when trying to find out if your aid is there and important registration dates. Be on top of your work, it'll help you a lot in your second year.

    In three sentences

This is a great school that helps with the transition from high school to college. They are willing to help you every step of the way and a great at setting up transfer fairs. If you're looking for a school that will do anything to help a student succeed, this is the college for you.

Safest school you can be in.

    Clubs and Activities

In regards to clubs, Guttman is slowly but surely developing more and more clubs. The funding for clubs is there but student initiative toward developing a club lacks.

Great for these types of students

For those who don't feel are ready for college and would like a smooth transition from high school or a GED program, this school is for you. College life at Guttman does border between high school and a traditional university. With the course load being college level work and campus life as an active community.

    Bang for the buck

    Chipotle !

    What to do for fun

Fortunately, Guttman is located across the street from Bryant Park, a block from Time Square and adjacent to 5th ave. Depending on your mood, theres only so much that could be done. The most enjoyable things to do in or around campus typically fall around the holidays. Christmas especially !

    Food and Dining

Unfortunately, Guttman does not have a dining facility. But on the plus side, it is located in the most active part of Manhattan; Time Square 42nd St. So finding a place to eat isn't so hard but perhaps paying for it all is the challenge.

    Dorm Life

Access to housing is unavailable because most students are commuter students. Granted, for the students who do dorm, they have either found outside programs the provide housing or live with family members.

    Academic Rigor

Depending on who your professor is, the workload can be minimal but challenging but could also be heavy and seamless.

    Tips for prospective students

If you enjoy small class sizes, student to professor relationships, all access support, and occasional stipend checks, Guttman is for you.
