After at first dreading staying at home and going to a community college for my first 2 years, I can now say I am grateful of my decision. Saving myself an extreme amount of money by going to HCC first was the best idea -- I was able to get the same education as anyone else and pay less than a 1/4 of the price. Most professors are eager to help, and if not there is a support center that helps most students survive their classes. HCC is slowly but surely improving the college. I would definitely recommend to anyone who can't afford a 4 year institute right away, who is not sure what they would like to do yet, or someone who needs something like a stepping stone before moving on to a 4 year institute. The only reason I give 3 stars is because every course I've taken, almost every professor assigns a TON of busy work, while most of it is beneficial, I feel like college is a time where homework should be optional to benefit the student. Another reason is some courses don't transfer well, unless you have an associates; and even then it is difficult if you are not transferring to a Maryland school.

HCC is such an affordable school compared to the prices of 4 year schools.

As a county resident, you get the best prices. Estimated price for a full load would most likely be $1600 (including books, if bought off Amazon).
