There are lots of clubs, and the longer I'm here the more clubs I learn about. Sometimes they take some digging because they aren't all listed. There are a few sports (crosscountry, soccer, basketball) but the school is much more focused on academics and the sports teams are fun mostly because people only join because of a love of the sport. Tons of opportunities, and there are also activities to do almost nightly that are usually listed as substance-free and often involve free food! Also, in the five-college area there are loads of places to get good food or shop, with a free bus system throughout.

depends. if you're into parties, there are tons of woods parties. If you're into netflixing and eating popcorn alone at 7 pm on a friday, that's cool too. The neighboring town of Northampton is pretty great!!

  • I am researching this school and have not visited the campus

Interact with peers on campus, travel to other campuses near by, invest time in a club, make a study group , go out to eat anything really its plenty to do. -Jazmine Carrier YPNF

Parties are fun if it's your friends' but there is not a lot of just show up open house style parties. If they aren't registered they'll get shut down pretty quick. If you like a more chill brand of fun, there's plenty though. I love going for walks in the Hampshire woods. There are lots of old art projects and secret structures to find.

Hampshire College is a main bus stop for three buses that can take you to Holyoke, South Hadley, Northampton, and Amherst. If you get bored on campus, it's pretty easy to go do things in town (like see a movie, go play laser tag at Hampshire Mall, or go see a movie). Chances are, you can also find any number of performances or sports games on or off-campus, and that's a great way to de-stress and have some fun.

Their are a hundred of different Student Groups. Ultimate, Circus, Sports... if students like the outdoors and sports. There are also groups for people who are interested in comics, films, books... We also have the opportunity of the four other colleges, as they host student groups and events open to college students from the area.

North Hampton is where everything happens. A huge town, with numerous stores, restaurants, art galleries and more. On campus, the best thing to do is walk around the woods, visit the reservoir. Breathe in the fresh air Amherst has to offer, and feel connected with nature. You can join one of the numerous crazy clubs, or just hang out with your friends in someones room. Oh, and the parties are great too.

  • I am accepted here and planning to attend soon

Hampshire College is part of a 5 college consortium, so if you cannot find a party, poetry reading or club on campus, you can get on the free bus system and travel to the center of Amherst, UMASS, Amherst College, Smith College or Mt. Holyoke College to check out the students and the action going on there. There is always something to do, people to meet, good food to eat, live music to listen to and a good time to be had.

You can go on walks, the nature view outside is nice. The 5 college thing helps make finding parties at other colleges nice but there are ones on campus too.
