Hampton University is an excellent school when it comes to academics.l The professors are very interested in their students. They provide office hours as well as email addresses in order for their students to contact them. All of my professors responded to my emails in a timely manner. I also recieved my test grades with in a 48 hr time frame. Al of my professors were welcoming and available for me to talk to if i had any concerns.

This is by far one of the worst HBCU's known to mankind. Dr. Inman and Dr. Harvey are two of the worst administrators on campus. Dorms, food, and every aspect of the campus is horrible. Almost every person that works here needs to be fired immediately. Leadership reflects attitude. Just look to Dr. Harvey and the way he acts is the way everyone else acts. A person who turns up their nose at the students and parents and never speaks to either of them.

Hampton University is an amazing university to learn and fellowship with African-Americans and a diverse environment. I originally wanted to go to a predominantly white university, because I believed that was the only way to get the best education possible. However, I was encouraged by my mother, who went to an HBCU as well, to go to a university that is prestigious and just happen to have people who look and have the same values like us. .

Hampton University is enjoyable in several aspects. Professors are very passionate and eager to help students. Although the school needs improvement in some areas, the Hampton experience is like no other.

If you are a student with a disability, such as depression, do not attend this school. They will treat you as if you are a mental patient and they have no compassion for students suffering from this illness, which many college students in general deal with. This school wants all of its students to be the same and anyone who doesn't fit that description will be targeted by administrators. Don't make the mistake of attending this school. It is not at all worth the money or the hassle. The buildings are badly kept and the dorms and cafeteria are infested with rodents and large bugs. Much of the administration is not focused in taking care of it's students. Dr. Barbra Inman, the Vice President of student affairs will only care about students who's mothers are deltas. She is extremely rude and does not do a good job in her position. Her leadership is leading Hampton university down the drain. The academic programs could be way better. There is nothing to do and nowhere to go, and very unsafe, many student have been jumped and robbed on campus grounds. It was the worst experience of my life and I would never return. If you want to know more go on twitter and search restore HU to se the horrible conditions for yourself and hear from about them from students.
