Am learning a lot
Every class I learn something new and I actually enjoy it way more than I did in high school. The teachers are really devoted to helping you learn while doing it in a fun way. You'll never be bored.
Am enjoying being here
I love this college, and the people I'm surrounded with here make it that much more enjoyable. The professors care about me succeeding and they really know my name. I'm not just the kid who sits in the third row, and that's cool.
Bang for the buck
Considering they are a private Catholic college they are probably the most bang for the buck. You get the Catholic liberal arts education for a cheap price, but not only that but you get to enjoy the benefits of the University of Notre Dame right across the street. If you are a fan of college sports you get a discount on a Division I University athletic games. Also some of the games are even free for you. One sport in particular that is free is Notre Dame hockey. They were number one in the nation last year, and being able to go to their games and see them play for no cost at all is a great benefit. Also you get countless other opportunities that you can take advantage of for little or no cost to you. Another interesting detail to mention about the school is that they allow you to take one class for free at one of the surrounding colleges in the area. Saint Marys in particular is just next door and they offer one of the best catholic educations for women in the nation. Plus if your a guy its an all girl school so you can potentially make new friends as well. There is also this thing that the college does called the international experience. It allows a student to go to either Peru, Mexico, India, or Ghana and experience what the Holy Cross experience is like. The cool thing about the trip is that it is included in your tuition so you don't have to worry about additional costs to go. Everyone goes and enjoys it.
Tips for prospective students
The main tip that I can offer to prospective students is that they should get out and have fun. College is a place to learn as well as to make new friends and lasting relationships. Don't stay in your dorm all day and go to some of the student events. Most of the time they are free and you might find yourself actually enjoying an activity so much that you decide to help put together the next event. Find something new to do...you might actually find a new interest you never knew you had.
Great for these types of students
If the catholic liberal arts education is what your looking for, this school is perfect for you. With a close connection to not only the Congregation of Holy Cross but the University of Notre Dame as well, they offer the feel of a larger University but the great support and learning opportunities of a smaller college. Also students who find it challenging to stay focused will find this college the right place for them. The classes are small which allows for the teachers to get a better understanding of where their students are coming from. They really do make the effort to help you exceed at understanding the material, and if you need help your professor will more than likely be able to help you one on one during and out of their office hours. They want to help you excel with understanding their classes and they make the effort which you cant find at larger schools. Also making friends is no problem at all. By the end of the first semester you will know half of the students there by name and the faculty will be addressing you like they knew you forever. The college community that they promote gives everyone a welcoming and comfortable vibe that will have you smiling all day long.

A small, four year, liberal arts college dedicated to the mission of the Order of the Holy Cross Brothers. The Brothers actively pursue to educate the hearts and minds of it's scholars attending both young and old. This atmosphere provides a strong foundation for a will to learn, the will of service to others, and a strong faith in God.
Tips for prospective students
Holy Cross College is growing and may not have everything you wish to pursue academically at the moment. But, we are in the shadow of the University of Notre Dame and receive all the benefits of students that go to the university. Holy Cross students have the chance to be apart of many educational experiences with a big university, yet without the hassle. If you attend here, get involved in everything you can get your hands on. College is a time to learn, grow into yourself, and to have fun. These have been my best years. I do not want them to end! Also, apply for every scholarship you can!
What to do for fun
In the shadow of the University of Notre Dame, campus and the South Bend area has much to offer. From discounted bowling nights, to go-carting, to Notre Dame football/basketball games, and many other student based activities, when the homework is finished, you will find that unwinding will prove to be simple.
Bang for the buck
Holy Cross College is on a tuition lock. So, if you attend, you are locked in for all four years. You get that big university feel without the hassle.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
Rich in irish tradition, Holy Cross takes participation in many Notre Dame traditions.
Clubs and Activities
Endless clubs and activities. From astronomy clubs to car clubs to sports.
Greek Life
We are a Catholic institution. Given this fact, Greek life isn't allowed, although all dorms generally act and have similar traditions of traditional sororities and fraternities.
Campus Safety
Patrolled by the South Bend police department and backed by the Notre Dame PD

The professors at Holy Cross College are extraordinarily better at guiding and motivating their students than any I have ever experienced. The best choice I have made as a young adult would be choosing to give Holy Cross College a chance. I am exceedingly grateful for the time I have spent under the tutelage of such great minds as those found at Holy Cross College.
Tips for prospective students
Seriously contemplate your reasoning behind seeking a higher education. Are you attending only to please your elders? Are you just looking to party the next four years of your life away? If by some slim chance your real intention is to develop yourself to become a stronger member within the community, than Holy Cross College is worth taking a look at.
Academic Rigor
At Holy Cross College, the professors expected excellence from me. I felt I was properly motivated and trained to meet and exceed not only the expectations I had for myself, but also the expectations of my professors. The superb quality of the work assigned to me and the instruction given to me by my professors helped me to meet my goal of attaining knowledge in business administration and helped me make a newly founded goal of perfecting my skills as a reader and writer through attaining an English major as well.
Dorm Life
I commuted during the entirety of my school career there, so it would be wrong of me to rate the dorm life there. However, the site forced me to do so.
Food and Dining
I did not take part in eating at the school either, but a rating was required.
What to do for fun
I found the coed athletic events enjoyable. Activities at Notre Dame University and Saint Mary's University are also available for the Holy Cross students to take part in, so there are a variety of options for every student available if one chooses to become an active member of the school.
Bang for the buck
My education at Holy Cross was worth every penny and I would not trade it for anything.
Great for these types of students
This is a great college experience for the inquisitive student looking to develop one's mind, body and spirit in a smaller classroom environment.
Clubs and Activities
Clubs and activities are a work-in-progress, but have seen tremendous improvement in my four years at Holy Cross. I believe the clubs and activities will continue to grow and flourish with the help of the dedicated student body and staff.
Campus Safety
I had trouble feeling safe and secure when I first attended the school due to my military background, but I quickly learned to let my guard down after becoming a member of the school community. However, I must admit there was a certain amount of theft occurring, although it was no worse in scale than any other school I have attended.
