Get yourself involved quickly in any activities that seem interesting to you, or you might find yourself feeling a little left out. However, if you get involved, you'll find yourself finding meaningful, long-lasting friendships.

My foremost advice: Whichever college you choose, do your best to visit at least once, and make the best use of one-on-one conversations with students and faculty while you're there. An overnight stay is a great way to start this. My next advice: when looking through college reviews like this, make sure to look at both positive and negative reviews. I have a largely favorable opinion of the school, so this review is going to be mostly positive. And finally: At Hope, if you're interested in exploring what ethnic diversity the community has--and expanding your worldview a bunch in turn--I highly recommend inquiring about the Phelps Scholars program for first-year students. It's extra work, but well worth the effort.
