most people think down on houston community college. i have never felt that way about my school. it is place where you learn who you are in life and it is the first step to becoming sucessful. when start don't be afraid to ask for direction people are not as mean as you may think. talk to your professor most of them are pretty understanding. join organizations they do take up some time but as much as you may think and they do benefit you. study the classes are not always easy but if you study you will pass. talk to people, you will make friends. some of my best friends i meet at school. have pride in your school go to school events they always benfit you. use the computer labs and if you need tutor they are free and there is tutor for ever subjuct. if you fail try again... every successful person has little stumbles on the way to success. always remember your are going to finish school and will pay off in the end.

have an idea of what you want to study as far as certificate, program plan, major, and do some research on the classes you wish to take before seeing an advisor. sometimes seeing and advisor who is not helpful will waste your time and money picking out a class or two that won't work for your schedule or your interests.

Don't procrastinate! Make sure you are enrolled correctly in the class and that everything runs smoothly as there are sometimes problems that occur for online classes.

Go for it if you can! Most 4 year universities prefer if you have college credits before entering, so this place is the perfect place to do so.
