Be prepared for all your classes and don't spend time or waste money on classes that aren't towards your major because every second counts. Make sure to look into all the professors on the list before picking and choosing, some profs are great, but some aren't.

most people think down on houston community college. i have never felt that way about my school. it is place where you learn who you are in life and it is the first step to becoming sucessful. when start don't be afraid to ask for direction people are not as mean as you may think. talk to your professor most of them are pretty understanding. join organizations they do take up some time but as much as you may think and they do benefit you. study the classes are not always easy but if you study you will pass. talk to people, you will make friends. some of my best friends i meet at school. have pride in your school go to school events they always benfit you. use the computer labs and if you need tutor they are free and there is tutor for ever subjuct. if you fail try again... every successful person has little stumbles on the way to success. always remember your are going to finish school and will pay off in the end.
