If you take you education seriously I feel that it does not matter where you go to school, although a prestigious university doesn't hurt, it is what you make of it. Being that many of the professors teach at near by universities they know how to give a you challenge when needed. The classes are very informative and may of professors are dedicated to helping their students understand the material.

I'm an international student planning to attend Houston Community College, Spring 2019. The first thing that attracted me to HCC is the variety of students that go there. It's a home for international students and the admissions department are always ready to help you through whatever challenge you may face in the application. It's the best school I've applied to.

This school is pretty crowded. Some of the teachers here are amazing though, and really care about their students. This college is right in the middle of downtown Houston, so be sure you really know what you're getting yourself into. Parking is TERRIBLE! I always have to Uber to make it to class on time.

I felt that during the normal semesters HCC was awesome, but during the summer some of the professors that taught there are really a hit or miss, I suggest ratemyprofessor.com if you want to know from who you could actually learn a thing with. Most of the time though, professors are chill and are open to students who are actually interested in improving themselves. For example, one of my psych professors there was previously a criminologist and at the time that was what I was extremely interested in. Check it out, you won't regret it.

Houston community college is a great school. They provide a tremendous amount of resources for students to prevail. The only flaw I can think of is that a parent tax transcript is required for financial aid.

You get what you pay for. Some teachers are great and actually care about your success. A good way to get your Associate's and not break the bank.

HCC is a great starting point to get an education without the sky-high tuition costs of 4 year universities. The academic courses are interesting and challenging. There is a good blend of people so you will meet some interesting characters here too!
