For many students reading this, I would advise you to finish as strongly as you can in your last year of high school. Your most important years are the freshman and senior year (at least in my opinion), especially senior year. You also want to be really active in the school as well as the community because IUPUI has several scholarships for just community service. You really want to put your best foot forward when you get into IUPUI or any other college.

Do well from beginning to end! Do not wait til the end of the semester to try and bring your grades up. If you give your all from the start, you will not have to stress and struggle at the end.

students should get to know their professor! they are always great resources and you never know when you need them for a recommendation letter or to help you get an internship/job.
students should get involved in organizations and community service! it is a great way to make new friends and earn experience.
students should work hard, stay on top of homework, and read their books! you are starting out with a clean slate and you will want to try to hold that gpa as high as you can for as long as you can.
students should use the academic resources (mentors and tutors) on campus if they are struggling because they do help!

College is a completely new experience from high school. Step onto campus willing to learn and put your best foot forward. Make studying top priority, you will have time for fun afterwards. I would recommend living on campus, live the college life, meet new people, and make new friends!

make the most of your time at iupui. when i first started at iupui, it was way more of a communter campus, but it is starting to slowly turn away from that. live in the dorms and join clubs. putting yourself into an organization will make iupui feel a lot smaller and make you feel at home.

i would tell a prospective student to live on campus, so they can get the college experience. i would also tells them to get involved, for it will make ones college experience richer. the last thing i would say is to stay focused on their school work.

Make sure you apply early for housing if you plan on living on campus! Also check out other websites for textbooks, they will be cheaper than the book store. I would not recommend buying the meal plan, just put money on your student id.

Take advantage of your campus visits and advisor meetings - get all of your questions answered.

Apply early and don't slack off your senior year, they look at grades and how much students were involved in high school.
