I like to attend Encounter at ISU, it is a Christian organization that helps to build new relationships and strengthen your faith through worship events and small group gatherings on campus.

There's a lot of things around. There's tattoo shops, there's a mall in Bloomington and a better one in Peoria. There are lots of restaurants uptown and a few stores. There's plenty of hotels to go to with your friends, most of them the check in age is 21 but there is one or two that have check in ages for 18. There's a virtual reality place around it's pretty cool.

the campus sits in the midst of uptown normal. this is an active area in the community with a variety of boutique shops and eclectic eateries. one of my personal favorites is insomnia cookies, a specialty cookie shop which stays open late, nothing like a 2:00 a.m. cookie run.

daytime: hit the quad for some recreation or relaxation. take a stroll through uptown normal, nationally recognized as a stellar community and "best place to live." hang out at pub ii (playboy's top 100 bars) for a game or enjoy nice weather in their beer garden. the campus recreation center is top 5 in the nation and offers rock climbing, a beautiful aquatic center and plenty of cardio and weights as well. if you prefer your cardio outdoors, you can take advantage of the gorgeous, tree-lined constitution trail that spans the length of bloomington and normal or even get in a round at the nationally-awarded i.s.u. weibring golf course. if it's a game day in normal, you'll be at hancock stadium all day long. nighttime: take in a movie at the starplex cinema, do dinner and a driving range at swinger's grill or hit the bowling and billiards center right on campus. basketball is a big deal at isu so when the redbirds play, you'll want to be at redbird arena early. if partying is your scene, the nightlife at state is also great. the weekend usually kicks off on wednesday after classes end and both uptown normal and downtown bloomington offer a variety of bars and atmospheres for your enjoyment. one of the highlights of the blo-no area is the readily available (and inexpensive) transportation options even in the early hours of the morning. redbirds don't drink and drive.

they like to show movies on campus and have shows in braden auditorium and redbird arena. they like to arrange special nights and even weekends that have lots of themed activities across campus. they have their own circus with student performers that is truly amazing to watch. it's fun to go cheer on the redbirds for different sports and the marching band is amazing!
