    If you want to save a ton of money, go to IRSC. It's a great way to get your foot in the door to start your college career. So many students get their AA at IRSC and then transfer to another school to get their bachelors degree (like myself).

    Try and avoid going to see the counselors. It's always super busy and they try and rush you out without taking the time to have you understand the path they're putting you on. Make sure you get the success plan, but chose your classes based on ratemyprofessor. It's the most helpful way to build your schedule.

    Try to do everything online and pick your classes yourself. Get your academic outline through your advisor but pick your classes yourself that way you could use ratemyprofessor and review the professors. I found that to be helpful in deciding what classes I could take so that I understood whether I could learn with that professor or not.
