I would recommend to go online at The River Life section of Indian River's Website. Become active and join a few clubs and be very social. There is a program called "Emerging Leaders." I would complete the steps to graduate from that program it does not cost any money, only some time. It builds leaders, creates an extra-curricular transcript which looks great on a resume, and after graduation you get an award suitable for framing. It prepares you for a succrssful learning experience at the college. It is a great way to meet students and staff.

If you are to be attending on campus then it is a decent school. I am now at the University of West Florida and it it 10 times better. Really great tuition rates though!

Try and avoid going to see the counselors. It's always super busy and they try and rush you out without taking the time to have you understand the path they're putting you on. Make sure you get the success plan, but chose your classes based on ratemyprofessor. It's the most helpful way to build your schedule.
