If you plan on coming to Jackson State please make sure you apply for plenty of scholarships. Most of the schools scholarships go to STEM student and really only STEM students. Never lose your ID it is needed for everything around campus from eating to doing laundry. An again scholarships you will need them especially if you're a out of state student on in honors college.

Do not travel far away from home if you are scared of being home sick. Distance can only grow you. DO NOT get caught up into the parties and hype, parties and kickbacks will occur all through the school year.

Observe and do a lot of research not only about what you plan to study, but how the department you'll be majoring in functions. Jackson state offers many great degree programs to choose from, but if you are unsure of exactly what you want to do, it can take you a while to decide on a major and do what you need to do to earn your degree. Also learn to manage your time and your social life. Your social life is a really important part of your overall college experience, especially at Jackson State. Make sure you balance your social life in a way that you can enjoy your time at JSU, BE INVOLVED, and do well academically.

Attend Class Students who attend class, tend to pass that's a very true statement Stay on top of your financial aid Be aware of ALL deadlines Apply for housing and classes for the upcoming semester during the last semester. Don't sit in your room. go out ! explore ! experience! If you don't wanna miss some fun on Fridays don't schedule a class at twelve. However, don't spend all your time on the Plaza(the social walk way basically) its consumes your time and will throw off your schedule. Join organizations on campus and take every community service opportunity you can.

I would get to school as early as possible to find a parking space. If you have questions, comments, or concerns please talk to someone in person. Please do not use your phone in class because the majority of the professors feel like that is disrespectful.
