What Students Are Saying

try and be sociable the first two months of college, even if it pushes you out of your comfort zone. be sure to fill out all of your paperwork and work study application documents before you arrive on campus. it makes life a lot easier once you are there and it provides more assurance that you will have a job on campus.
Hannah
Be willing to put in a lot of work, academically and community service wise. All of the professors are very personable and genuinely care about you.
Katlyn from Walland, TN
Yes this college is a Bible college, but it also has a music program and teacher education program, of which I am enrolled in. The dorm life is awesome, separate dorm buildings of course.
Kayla from Knoxville, TN
Just be sure to be open. You may not be a very sociable person, but be open enough to let people approach you and you'll find yourself surrounded by people who love you and are there to support you. Also, though the teachers are very nice and understanding they do give a nice amount of homework. As long as you keep up with the work they give you and find help when you're struggling you'll be all good!
Breanna from Knoxville, TN
This is a school focused around the Bible; if you don't know much about Scripture, read some. Use the time at Johnson to grow you as a person, not to become who God is promised you'll become later. Ministry is so simple, don't let the classroom kill what you think of as ministry.
Joshua from Lakewood, CO
The focus of this college is learning, and building relationships with people and Christ. Get involved and do not skip out on classes for it will result in failure. This school takes student attendance very seriously.
Parker from Columbia, MO
Try your best to participate in all of the student activities! It's a great way to get to know people!
