If you are planning on attending Lakeland, I would recommend making appointments ahead of time with counseling offices, since sometimes you will have to wait a while for walk in appointments. I would get involved in as many extracurricular as possible because it will make your experience here much more fun! Make sure to apply to scholarships because there are so many you may be eligible for. Also, another tip I would suggest is speaking with students of Lakeland to get an idea of what courses and teachers to take because you want to know the teaching style of some teachers before you register :)

Go to your teacher's office hours, they sometimes give hints for the exams and it will help you do better in the course. Check your email at least once a week, or preferred once a day, because this will be how your teachers and other activities will keep in contact with you. Most importantly, join a club. There are over 30 clubs at Lakeland and staying involved will help you make lasting friendships and it will look great on scholarships, resumes and college applications among many other benefits.

My tips for Lakeland would be to stay on top of homework, don't get distracted by peers who aren't looking to succeed, and take advantage of the professors knowledge and experience.
