There are wide range of classes to take at Lane. I was enrolled in a Human Sexuality class where I learned so many things that you really are not allowed to learn in high school. They covered every aspect of sexuality you could imagine. There are several different types of English classes, including fun classes. In one, you analyze the lyrics of Bob Dylan as poetry and literature. I took a Shakespeare class, and learned about his works in a different way than I did in high school. The professor was encouraging and funny.

Read MoreYou won't believe the corruption of the admin that I've experienced over there. Now hear me out: I was an international student from China. In summer 2010 I was disqualified from U of Oregon due to poor GPA, so I transfered to LCC. Because of my disqualification at UO, by rule I was put on probation for the first two terms in LCC, meaning that if I get a single term GPA lower than 2.0 I will be disqualified again, but if I survive the first two terms my probation will be over. Naturally, I worked my hard and gained 3.8 GPA in both terms, and the school informed me that I was no longer in probation, meaning I don’t need to worry about disqualification anymore. At that point, my plan was to transfer back to UO at the beginning of next year. I don’t need to take any more classes in LCC because they only offer 100 to 200 level courses which I have more than enough to fulfill my UO course requirements. Therefore I decided to cruise through the third term and only got a 1.9 GPA. On the last day of the term I received an email from LCC admin informing me that I was disqualified because my GPA was lower than 2.0. At first I thought it was a mistake because I was no longer on probation. I went to LCC’s official website and found a page about the probation rule, stating that “ a student who is no longer on probation will not be disqualified if he or she gets a single GPA lower than 2.0”. I angrily confronted the admin whose name was Colby and showed her their own web page stating the rule. She was not happy with my attitude, and she insisted on disqualifying me but told me that she needed to ask a supervisor and get back to me tomorrow. The next morning when I checked their website again, the words on the original page were changed. Now it says a student can be disqualified even he is out of probation. I confronted Colby and asked why they changed it, she insisted the page was never changed. I realized that in order to make sure I was disqualified, Colby edited a web page about probation rule on their website overnight. If a student can be straight disqualified even if he is not on probation, then what is the point of probation? I asked other international students who had the same situations, and they said they were only put on probation again. I guess it was a mistake at first, but Colby didn’t like my attitude so she made sure that mistake stood. Luckily, I took UO summer classes and got a 4.2 GPA, which the UO admin believed was good enough for them to reroll me. The moment I started again in UO I felt like escaping from hell to heaven. It is astonishing to me that Americans can also be scammy and corrput. A school admin changed the school rules overnight to ensure a student she doesn’t like gets disqualified? If UO didn’t reenroll me I might end up without a college degree and my future will be completely ruined. So, please avoid this place as much as possible. I know it sounds hard to believe but I’m not making it up. Everything is true I swear. I write this review because I don’t want anybody else to experience the same thong. If the student is not lucky as I was, his future might be ruined by a personal gauge of the admin. Seriously avoid this school.

Read MoreI give Lane Community College 5 stars in my experience so far. The instructors are easy to follow during lessons and encourage questions during class and outside of class. My first thought when returning to school was that it would be extremely hard and i would not get the attention i require to learn my studies, however Lane changed that outlook within the first week of my first term.
Read MoreI feel as if Lane Community College does have very cheap classes. Although some of the teachers are less than desirable, it is still definitely a way to achieve your pre-req's in a shorter and cheaper time. I feel like I did well here.

Read MoreLane Community College attracted me for several reasons, the first and foremost being their attentive care to each individual student. I appreciate that the academic advisers care and are actively involved in helping students achieve their personal goals. Lane community college is of a much higher par than the other community college I attended in the past.
