See an admissions/academic counselor as soon as possible to get a plan set up before enrolling.

Do your homework and study and you'll have no problems passing all of your classes. make sure you schedule your classes so that you have time to commute in between them.

Sit in the front row! Pay attention all the time! that way the teacher will connect with you better. In my past iv noticed that when I pay attention and answer questions it almost feels like I was the only student in that class. take your own notes! use different colored pens, it helped me remember things. and also do your homework! I'm not very smart however I tried and I was definitely learning a lot more than the other students and that my friend is the ultimate goal when attending college. get your financial aid done, if you have questions or need help they have have an area just for financial aid where you can go to to get your answers. also they do have a page called Oasis where you could pick up scholarships for your major specifically for that school.

DONT SIGN UP FOR THE ONE CARD! It's nice to be able to buy books with financial aid but all of your financial aid money will go on the card, and you have to pay $20 to replace it if it's lost or stolen. I know a lot of people who've had problems because they don't tell you that signing up for it is OPTIONAL, they can't legally make you do it to get your financial aid. You will get e-mails telling you to sign up--just don't and you'll receive your refund money in the form of a check. Sign up as soon as you can to get the classes you want, they fill up fast. Put yourself on a waitlist if you have to, I've never been waitlisted and not gotten into a class, even when I was 7th on the list. ALWAYS check ratemyprofessor.com for your teacher. I have over 70 credits here and in that time I've had some amazing teachers and some truly awful ones who had no idea how to teach or simply didn't care.

Whenever you don't understand something go straight to counseling, they are honestly a lot of help and very friendly to speak to.
