There is a lot of beauty in the Hudson River region. Surrounding campus there is the FDR museum, the Vanderbilt mansion, a drive in movie theatre and all of the areas nearby are very close by with a large amount of opportunities. On the weekends, what you would like to get out of your college experience you will be able to find.

Marist offers SO many activities weekly. They have ski trips, snow tubing, iceskating, broadway shows, shopping trips and much more! They offer comedians, singers, and different shows on campus every week. They also offer activities like bingo, murder-mystery, etc. It is also very easy to get a cab or uber to the mall and go to the movies, which the tickets are 5 dollars if purchased here at the student center. You can never get bored here!

The student programming committee plans a lot of fun activities for students to do. They have trips into the city to see broadway plays, bingo nights, movies playing every Friday and Saturday in the student center, and a lot more. The RAs also plan a lot of programs for students in their residence halls to take part in.

Some weekends at Marist are sparse with activities, but others are jam-packed. For example, in one weekend I could have a night out on the town with friends, enjoy a Broadway trip, and participate in an on-campus event (like a Murder Mystery interactive experience). It's easier when it's warmer to find new things to do.

Marist has so much to offer on campus, but also gives us the opportunities to go off campus as well for trips to the city for broadway plays. I am involved in several clubs so I spend a lot of time participating in them.

The Hudson Valley is a great area to be! We are only 90 minutes from the city so you can take a day trip on the weekends or you can stick around and do the Walkway Over the Hudson, go to the many historical properties in the area, go to the mall, go to the CIA for a delicious lunch, or go to Rhinebeck (a pristine little town North on Route 9) and explore cute shops. There is so much to do off campus and on campus, our Student Programming Committee is dedicated to make sure there is always something going on.

I can honestly say that I've never been bored here at Marist. There's always something going on from trips into NYC to see Broadway shows (for only $25) to comedians, coffeehouse performances, or bingo nights. There's always something going on!
