While at Mary Baldwin, I go to Split Banana and BCM (Baldwin Campus Ministries) whenever I have free time. I especially enjoy Split Banana because they take inspiration from a 50s diner. On Tuesdays, I enjoy attending Bible Study at Miller Chapel, which is conveniently located on campus next to the dining hall.

Not too many clubs or organizations, but you can spend lots of time in downtown Staunton or in one of the nearby towns.

There are a lot of clubs on campus. Blackfriars which is a Shakespeare theater is a short walk from campus, as well as downtown Staunton. James-Madison college is 30 mins away and VMI is close by as well. The college has sports teams, as well as yoga and fencing.

When I say it is a small school and a small campus, I mean it. A lot of the time, you've got to make your own fun around here. There is a party scene over at JMU that a lot of girls enjoy for the first few months here before that runs dry. I personally don't mind us being in such a small town. While some weekends can get boring, you're living down the hall from all your best friends, it isn't that hard to have fun. The school tries its best to entertain us with movie nights at the downtown theaters, or campus-wide events; you get what you put into it. You can have fun here if you try just a little

The school has a few organizations that have events every now and then. The Baldwin Program Board has the best ones. They have an event every third Thursday that utilizes both movie theaters and plays their own selection which you can see for free with either free popcorn or drink. In the beginning of the year there are a lot more events, but as winter and spring come around it's more sparse. Finally, downtown has a few shopping options (like thrift stores and vintage stores) and some nice restaurants (some give discounts).

You can always go downtown. However, there is not much to do there either. You can watch a movie at the theatres. If you want to party, then a car would be required to drive down to JMU. If you want fast food, all of that would be in driving distance. Bottom line is... there is nothing to do for fun. On campus activities can most likely compensate for that.

Watch movies, hang out with your newly made friends, go downtown where they have great shops & restaurants- but only after all your work is done!!
