Categories Comments Campus Safety i feel safe on campus. there are officers who patrol campus constantly, and if there is a reason to feel unsafe they still provide ways to help students feel safe. they have cameras all over the campus and buttons that can alert the campus police if there is trouble. furthermore, if something happens on campus, they immediately alert the students via email or text.
Clubs and Activities there are plenty of clubs for students who have a wide variety of interests. like high school clubs, they do require a bit of effort. however, that shouldn't be a problem if you thoroughly enjoy the club! i am current an officer of the creative writing club and a member to the honor society, phi theta, and i have a lot of fun in both clubs.
Great for these types of students responsible, hard-working students who can work independently and occasionally with other people. if you're looking to kick off your college career, this is a great place to start.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus i don't see anything unusual that occurs on campus. most of the events take place in the student enter, and include a wide variety of events for different kinds of people.
Bang for the buck i absolutely love this school. the teachers are both fair and informative. they know what they are talking about and provide enough chances for students to excel or receive help. you can't really fail their classes unless you fail to put any effort into your work. the classes are cheap, and provide a good step-in for harder colleges and universities.
What to do for fun there are various clubs to join that'll occupy your time. if that isn't your cup of tea, they still host events in the student center that allow students to partake in or watch. but if you feel the need to stay on your feet, they have a nearby gym with a track and basketball court. since i have never been in there personally, i'm not exactly sure what they offer inside the gym.
Food and Dining since i don't eat their food, i cannot really give any information on how well the food is. however, from what i've heard from fellow students and close friends, the food is acceptable.
Dorm Life since it is a community college, there are no dorm room for students. so, if you plan to attend this college, make sure to live nearby with a relative or prepare for a long commute!
Academic Rigor as i've said, classes here aren't tough. however, that doesn't mean the school is a slouch in terms of professors and how they teach. the teachers are both very informative and fair. they're very well informed on what they teach. they're always giving students a chance to ask for help, or chances to make up for missed assignments. they also give students advice on how to excel in their class. if you're shy to ask for the teachers help, they also have tutors on campus who are ready to help you with your class assignments.
Tips for prospective students it's not difficult to succeed in class. all you need to do is to put effort into your classes and respect the teachers. the saying, "treat others the way you want to be treated" is very accurate here.
In three sentences making itself one of the best school to start off your college careers, massasoit teachers are wonderful and very informative about the classes they teach. everyone is always willing to help you succeed. in your spare time, there are plenty of on campus activities to introduce you to other students or just to have a good time!

Categories Comments Food and Dining The food is not the best but they have chicken tenders and fries all the time. Who can beat that?
Dorm Life There are no dorms at Massasoit. If there were, I wouldn't transfer anytime soon.
Academic Rigor In Massasoit there are a lot of classes that are fundamental for students that don't score high enough on the placement test. It's a longer process because all of the fundamental classes have credits that will not transfer. At the end of the day, the fundamental classes will really help you get into the class you need to be in so Massasoit isn't really that challenging.
Tips for prospective students Be on your professors good side and make sure you have all of your work turned in with minimal missing assignments and you will get through!
In three sentences Massasoit Community College is an excellent choice for students who want to boost their GPA before transferring off to a 4 year school. Most professors are very professional and actually care about you and will help you. It's very easy to make it in this school mainly because everyone is here for the same reason. To Transfer!

Bang for the buck Cheap credits.
What to do for fun Play a sport.
Food and Dining Decent cafeteria chicken salad sandwhich wraps.
Dorm Life No dorms.
Academic Rigor Take Liberal Arts first semester. Then select a major pertaining to what interests you.
Tips for prospective students Go there and get the work done. Follow the syllabus and directions and put in the work on your own time in the library.
In three sentences Feels like you're attending college in Soviet Russia. Be ready to go there, learn, get the assignments and hit the library. Don't plan on making great friends, just great GPA improvements.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Budget conscious and adult students (continuing education & career change).
Bang for the buck The teachers are highly knowledgeable about their fields and the tuition is fair compared to most other schools in Boston.
Food and Dining I haven't experienced their dining since I eat at home but they have adequate vending machines with healthy snacks.
Dorm Life There aren't any dorms since this is a community college.
Academic Rigor There is a healthy and appropriate level of academic rigor.
Tips for prospective students Register early, don't be afraid to ask for help (the teachers are more than willing), and put in the time to study since it does truly pay off,
In three sentences Although this is a relatively small school, I must say that the teachers have a huge impact on your education! Each class that I have taken has challenged me, thus, elevating me to a higher potential! The teachers, staff and resources are beyond what you may expect for such a reasonable tuition.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students The classes provided by the school can fit into anyones busy scedule.
Bang for the buck It is one of the best values out there for a community college
Dorm Life This is a commuter school
Tips for prospective students Make sure to use all of the tools provided by the school so you get the most out of the experience.
In three sentences I think that Massasoit is a great school. The small classroom setting lets the teachers get to know each student. I have had such a positive experience there!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Police patrol campus on a regularly scheduled basis.
Clubs and Activities A variety
Great for these types of students Right out of high school with low income.
Bang for the buck Affordable
Food and Dining A variety of food options
Academic Rigor Classes are great, usually small classes and information is greatly presented. The classes are usually fast paced, and a lot is presented on a daily basis. Homework is regularly assigned and teachers expect you to have it done, or else 0!
Tips for prospective students Shot for the stars. Do your best and stay on time and focused.
In three sentences Amazing place to start off, classes are great and teachers are hands on. It's amazingly cheap for any one starting off college and does not make lots of money. The courses are amazing and again, the teachers are wonderful and know what they are talking about because they have worked in the area of studies they are teaching.

Categories Comments Campus Safety VERY SAFE. Many officers are on campus walking around and driving around to make sure everything is safe on this campus. The best thing about this campus is that there are buttons on the walls which are on every part of the campus, and if you or someone else is in danger or something is going on all you need to do is push the button on the wall and security will be there to help.
Greek Life I think there is 1 fraternity on campus but, as I said before if you feel like there needs to be more frats and sororities get 10 people to be in the group and talk to the president and he or she will approve it.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs and activities here. If you feel as if there needs to be a club here all you need is to get 10 students to start the club, go to the president of the school and tell him or her that you want this club to be started and tell him or her everything that you need and he will approve it.
Great for these types of students Great for people with learning disability or any type of disability. Anyone that is lacking in math or English. Anyone that doesn't want to go off to a 4 year college/ university because they dont want to be far away from home or anyone that doesnÃ??t have the money.
Bang for the buck Very Cheap
What to do for fun There are many things to do for fun on and off of campus. Off campus there is a mall, bowling alley, a few clubs and bars, etc. On campus there are in and outdoor basketball courts, outside soccer field, inside volleyball court, baseball, softball, and a swimming pool inside. In the summer time towards the end of June into mid July there is the BROCKTON FAIR. Brockton fair is fun and exciting. A lot of people , friends, and family go there. If you do have a child or children its great to go there. Many rides for the little ones. There are rides for adults as well. ItÃ??s best to be safe and go with friends or family. There are some dangerous things that happen at the fair but if you have fun and do not get involved in drama then you will be safe.
Food and Dining Massasoit has a small dining area located near the library. Also there are many places to eat in Brockton. Because Brockton is such A big city there are many fast food restaurants to eat at. Some of the places are extremely disgusting and nasty but, there are some places that are great. Also there are restaurants as well that are good.
Dorm Life Unfortunately there are no dorms on the campus but, there are apartments near the campus and in the city.
Academic Rigor not to sure because I do not go here.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Free tutoring available in the Academic Resource Center from peer and professional tutors.
What to do for fun Always events happening, courtesy of Student Life. Art shows, discounted movie tickets, and many charity options are constantly advertised on campus.
Academic Rigor Faculty and staff want to give students the best education possible. Many classes are core requirements and other general education courses, but beyond those classes, courses can be challenging.
Tips for prospective students Do not assume the classwork will be less rigorous, the faculty is a highly skilled and educated group of people. Always be aware of transfer opportunities, though the college is a great place to start, their transfer programs make transferring a pleasurable experience.
In three sentences Massasoit is a place, for many students, that offers a second chance for an education. With a loving and caring faculty, students are given personal attention in classes. The opportunities available to students make it nearly impossible to not be a part of at least one group/club on campus, and these opportunities are growing infinitely.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There is always officers around to help you in anyway and keep all students, faculty and staff safe.
Greek Life There isn't much for Greek life. They do have PTK; the international honor society.
Clubs and Activities There are a lot of different types of clubs and activities. Everyone can find a place they belong.
Great for these types of students Great for students who want to take prerequisites before transferring to another school or for students who aren't sure what they want to do but still want to attend school.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Campus has a daycare on campus that my peers really loved. Massasoit also has a few campuses so if one location doesn't offer a class you need or want you can most likely find it at another campus. The campuses are all within a half hour drive of each other.
Bang for the buck I spent two years at school here and paid for almost all of it out of pocket. Most of my credits transferred to the four year university I now attend. I have very little debt after attending this school.
What to do for fun They have a lot for fairs for different ethnicities, careers, and some just for fun.
Food and Dining The food could be better if the culinary students did the cooking. The cafeteria staff are friendly however.
Dorm Life There is not dorm living.
Academic Rigor I was very challenged and my professors were a great help along the way.
Tips for prospective students Talk to your advisers and professors; they will help you a lot in figuring out what you need to accomplish in the time you are there.
In three sentences Professors are excellent. Cost is affordable. Most credits transfer to other shcools.

Great for these types of students great for all types, you'll see a diverse group of students from 18-80 years old and racially diverse
Bang for the buck great education at a great value
What to do for fun they have clubs and sports
Academic Rigor some of the professors/classes are easy and some are really hard, it's just like any 4 year college
Tips for prospective students Ask around about the professors or check ratemyprofessor.com to get the best professors.
In three sentences Massasoit is a great school to start you on your college journey. You save money and can get all your general courses out of the way. Some of my best professors were at Massasoit.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are so many clubs to join to entertain yourself. Club activity is a great way to get to know new people.
Food and Dining The food and drinks are reasonably priced. One of the good deals is fried dough on Friday morning. Make sure to be there before noon to get the deal!
Dorm Life There is no dorm at Massasoit, but there are some posts for room share at times, so keep looking.
Academic Rigor Education is not your obligation, but your privilege. There are some people who are seriously committed to their education and you might see some who are not. It is totally your call since you will be treated as an adult in College.
Tips for prospective students If you are ready to be successful for your future, come and study at Massasoit!
In three sentences I love studying at Massasoit because of 1) helpful and thoughtful professors, 2) the efficient assistance of the tutoring center and 3) reasonable pricing for the courses that are transferable. Also, there is a wide age rage within the student population that makes me motivated to continue learning.

Categories Comments Campus Safety the campus police are very friendly toward the students and are constantly present around the campus, giving the students a strong sense of security. there are also emergency call boxes all over the campus just in case.
Greek Life none.
Great for these types of students if you're like me and trying to save a little money while still receiving a quality education, i would definitely go to massasoit.
Bang for the buck for the low tuition rates, massasoit offers so much to its students. from intelligent and passionate professors to an academic resource center that will stop at nothing to help a student in need, this school offers a great value for its price.
What to do for fun the campus is always sponsoring activities for us in the student union building. from ice cream parties to drunk driving simulations, there's something going on there at least two days per week.
Food and Dining the cafeteria food is questionable at best. it's your typical cafe slop: american chop suey, mac and cheese pizza, some kind of asian style meat, washed down with a really weak coffee. it's not going to kill you if you must eat it in a pinch, but i wouldn't recommend everyday consumption.
Dorm Life there are no dorms at mcc.
Academic Rigor a lot of people come here initially thinking that, because this is a community college, there is little or no work to be done by the students. this could not be further from the truth. our professors here are still highly educated-- i don't mean to brag, but i had two last semester that had graduate degrees from harvard--and expect their students to work at or above a college level. there are, of course, a few professors who basically just hand out a's for showing up, but that happens at any college.
Tips for prospective students buy ear buds for the library. there are constantly students in there making a lot of noise by yelling or blasting music from their computers, and the librarians do nothing about it. my advice is to plug in and tune it out. also, beware of the cafeteria food!
In three sentences the professors here are great! they are all very knowledgeable and are willing to work their schedules around students, if needed. also, there are lots of on-campus activities available to the students.
