    Clubs and Activities

We are highly involved in helping around the community in Pittsburgh and the hospital. Plus have a SNAP organization, attend the SNAP convention yearly and the national NSNA conventions.

Great for these types of students

    Motivated and hard working students.

    Food and Dining

I am not impressed with their hospital cafeteria food, but I am also very picky. So I just pack, but many of my friends buy food daily.

    Dorm Life

I heard years ago they actually had dorms in the hospital, but they do not anymore. So you do have to find your own housing. A slight draw back if you don't already having housing.

    Academic Rigor

Content and exams are not easy, but definitely doable. But you do have to put in the time and effort into learning the material because it is given to you at an accelerated pace.

    Tips for prospective students

Get your pre-requisites done before hand if possible.

    In three sentences

Mercy Hospital School of Nursing is not an easy program built for the student who just wants to do minimal work and get by. It is a small, but intense program, but definitely worth every minute of hard work. Preparing you excellent clinically and academically to pass your boards and succeed in a job right out of school.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria food is the best I have ever had as far as hospital cafeteria food is concerned.

    Dorm Life

Mercy Hospital School of Nursing does not provide dorms.

    Academic Rigor

The course is fast paced, and incredibly difficult, but you will feel nothing but confident in your abilities as a nurse upon leaving the program.

    Tips for prospective students

Embrace everything Mercy Hospital School of Nursing has to offer. Take the time to personally introduce yourself to your professors, and make sure you are prepared to be tested academically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.

Mercy Hospital School of Nursing is by far the most incredible college experience I have ever had. The professors are so approachable, constantly reminding you that its okay to be overwhelmed because nursing is a tough major, but they make sure you feel comfortable coming to them for any reason. This school makes sure you don't feel like a number and makes sure that you are ready to leave the program as a confident, skilled, respectable nurse.
