Am learning a lot
At Miami Dade College you have the ability to learn from professors of all different backgrounds, whom all share a passion for learning and are interested in the well being of their students.
Am enjoying being here
I do in fact enjoy being a student at Miami Dade College, because I feel that they give you the choice to choose from a variety of campuses and teachers at your own convinience.
Bang for the buck
The money is also a reason why MDC is an excellent choice, here you pay little and learn alot.
Tips for prospective students
My one and only tip for prospective students is that if you do apply to MDC and are eligible for their HONOR COLLEGE program please apply, because I am part of the HC and it was the best choice I have ever made.

Am learning a lot
I am actuallly fascinated by the classes here. I am taking classes such as The Social Enviornment, Psychology of Personal Effectiveness, Etc. Miami Dade has so many helpful attributes. For example Math Lab, Reading Lab, Writing Lab, Tutors, Lots of places to sit and do homeworks, a huge computer lab, and an amazing array of teachers.
Am enjoying being here
I enjoy going to school at Miami-Dade, it lets me work and go to school and not miss a beat on my chores at home. Sometimes it can be overwhelming with homework, work, and home/family duties but its worth it!
Bang for the buck
I believe my money is well spent at Miami-Dade. There is always something I can do. I don't have a car so when i'm at Miami-Dade I have to make sure I get things done. If I don't have homework or anything otherwise academic to do I can go to the library, or the gym, or even the swimming pool. It's a low key school and every dollar was well spent.
Tips for prospective students
Don't procrastinate, make your time at Miami-Dade everything your High School Academic Career wasn't and a great University will be waiting for you!
Great for these types of students
Students who had a low GPA in highschool and are hoping to put forth more effort in college.

At Miami Dade College, I have been lucky enough to have the top-notch Professors who are there to teach students to and I don't mean by just memorizing information for a test and then forgetting it the moment you walk out. Professors make sure you know the material by providing power point hand outs, study guides and test reviews, and allowing you to visit them in their office during their corresponding hours. Teachers take the time to help you understand the material before moving on to another chapter and really focus on YOU! Professors want you to take the information you learned in their class and apply it to your life outside of the classroom.

As an Honors College Student at Miami Dade College, I feel that teachers become part of our family. We go to them for help with school, advice on transferring and just to talk about whatever is on our mind. I have also become very involved in different clubs and organizations where i get to meet different people and really network and establish friendships. Miami Dade has a very comforting environment and a lot of places to study. You can enjoy the quiet setting of a library, browse and search the web in the computer courtyard or just sit outside on a table, pull out your books and study under the sunlight while experiencing the cool shade of the trees.
Bang for the buck
Miami Dade College is not expensive to begin with and either way, there is financial aid offered. Most people attending Miami Dade college receive financial aid assistance or get a loan from Miami Dade and create a payment plan in order to pay it off. Unfortunately, I am biased in this area because as a Miami Dade Honors College Student, everything is paid for so there are no worries in that aspect. You're allowed to take as many classes as you want (and pass them of course) without any worries of having the sufficient funds to pay the tuition and any other fees. Either way, you're getting what you pay for - if not more at Miami Dade College!
Tips for prospective students
Take advantage of all the different opportunities Miami Dade College has to offer. Apply for the different Study Abroad programs, get involved in different clubs and organizations and establish a relationship with ALL of your professors, whether you like them or not. Don't sell yourself short and think oh, this is just Miami-Dade because it is a great stepping stone to start your path onto success and there are so many people that are willing to help you and guide you along the way! Take advantage of what you have at Miami Dade while you're there.
Great for these types of students
Miami Dade College has something for EVERY type of student out there, you just have to ask! Seek and you shall find. Here at Miami Dade, there is such a variety of students that everyone has a place to fit in.
SIDE NOTE: Students who are extra studious, want to challenge themselves, like smaller class sizes and have a weighted high school GPA of a 3.7 or higher, or a college GPA of a 3.5 and above - should consider applying to the Honors College! It is a fantastic program and has opened my doors in countless ways! Don't be afraid to APPLY!

I have been attending Miami Dade for a year and a half and am very satisfied and have learned a lot through out my semesters attending. Teachers here at Miami Dade are good and are very helpful. Miami Dade also has many labs that offer help ans assistance, for instance the 'Math Lab' which has teachers there that offer their help free and is what helped me get through both my math courses.
Am enjoying being here
There isnt much to enjoy when it comes to school but here at Miami Dade I have no complaints and am enjoying my college years so far. the atmosphere is nothing major or distracting, its just come to class, learn, and leave.
Bang for the buck
Definitly is the best for student tight on money. The amount per credits is unbeatable and worth the money. Can not complain with the cost's at Dade they are very descent and affordable for everyone.
Tips for prospective students
Prospective student should register early for classes so that you choose the ones you want because classes go by super quick and are filled up day-by-day.
Great for these types of students
Students who want to finish school quickly and affordable.

The professors at Miami Dade College are great! Every professor i've had for the past four semesters have been amazing. Ive learned so much about myself through these teachers and im so glad to have been able to sit in their classrooms. They really do care and want you to pass their class
Am enjoying being here
The campus is huge and there is so many places to relax and do your work. There are many people on campus to help you with whatever you may need: questions, advice and tutoring.
Bang for the buck
As an in-state student the cost for classes are not a huge dent in you pocket like many of the other universities in the area. Some classes are more expensive then others but the cost is a million times better then most schools.
Tips for prospective students
Do not be procrastinators about picking your classes. Even if it may be a pain to try to pick your classes whether you go to student services or sign up online always try to get your classes the first week they open up. That way you can get the schedule you want and find the best teacher through Ratemyprofessor.com.
Also If you have decided what your majoring in, go to the main department in which your major falls in. You will find out what classes you must take for your major during each semester, if not you could fall behind because some classes can only be taken during certain semesters

Teachers are very educated and are always willing to help you out when school work/homework get to difficult. As a freshman at Miami Dade College- Wolfson Campus I have become a more independent and strong student. With all the cultural diversity at hand I have learned to interact with people from all over the world! Everyday is a new and exciting day.
Am enjoying being here
With Wolfson Campus located right at the heart of Downtown Miami I have accessible transportation. Such as the Metro-Mover, Metro-Rail , Metro-Bus. Not forget how close I am just three minutes away from The American Airlines Arena and the famous social hangout Bayside.
Bang for the buck
Definitely 100% bang for the buck. Credits per semester is half the price from a University. Computer labs open daily for students and a library. Lunch time is the best because there is a McDonald's from across the campus and a food service area within the campus. Must I admit the food is high quality and cheap! Oh! My favorite gym-membership is only $30/mo and you are not restricted to one gym but can go to any in the Miami Dade College campus's...Great way to meet new people.
Tips for prospective students
-Register for classes early! They get filled really fast.

-Don't be afraid to take a mini-term or accelerated course. It is a great way to accumulate credits. Just make sure you are on top of game, so you won't put your GPA in danger.

-If books are to expensive don't buy. Instead rent or check out the school library and print the pages for term.

-Do have small talk with people in class. Comes in very hand when absent or studying for midterms/finals.
Great for these types of students
Miami Dade College is great for anyone who wishes to pursue a lifelong career. From a certificate for Medical Assistant to a Bachelor Degree in Nursing. There are options for everyone not just for the studious of the studious students.

You do get to learn so much from the professors here, not just in the classroom, but outside of it as well
Bang for the buck
Completely affordable education. Tuition for two years = $5000
Tips for prospective students
Apply for The Honors College. The minimum class size is 25, so you can get individualized attention, you know everyone within the first semester, and you can get into some of the top colleges around; some have been accepted to Mount Holyoke and Georgetown. Plus, they pay for your tuition! I'm in the program this year, and I'm going to college for free!

The professors at Miami Dade College are very knowledgebale in their respective fields. Even though some students may not like their professors, it does not change the quality of learning, which is excellent. True, there are some professors that are not great, but otherwise, always do your research on your potential professor, you may never know when that particular professor will be your friend in college.
Am enjoying being here
I do enjoy being here! I love the location especially! The location of Miami Dade College is GREAT!!! Especially Wolfson Campus! It is located within Downtown Miami. There are shops around the area, stores, and plenty of restaurants. Each day, there is always an event going on at Miami Dade College-Wolfson Campus.
Bang for the buck
Miami Dade College is truly your bang for the buck! I have spent two years at Miami Dade College debt-free! The Pell Grant covers all of the tuition at Miami Dade College. The education and the cheaper tuition goes well together!
Tips for prospective students
There are several tips for prospective students:
1.) APPLY, APPLY, APPLY! Miami Dade is the gateway to more schools and opportunities.
2.) DO NOT TRANSFER without the Associate of Arts Degree. It is very important. You save two years worth of tuition, and you can avoid all the hassles of transferring without one.
3.) MEET with YOUR ADVISOR! This is very important. Especially if you want to complete your AA Degree on time.
4.) ALWAYS pay ATTENTION to YOUR G.P.A! The reason why is because if you do not do well in your class, your G.P.A. will drop. College G.P.A is not like a high school G.P.A where if a failing grade was received, your G.P.A. remained at a 3.4. Once YOUR G.P.A. drops, it is very hard to bring it up. There is also a risk of losing Financial Aid due to a low G.P.A. Financial Aid reviews your G.P.A. and credit completion requirements every year for Standards of Academic Progress.
5.) ALWAYS APPLY for FINANCIAL AID EVERY YEAR! It is very important to do so. Without financial aid, your classes WILL BE DROPPED!
6.) ALWAYS keep abreast of the new rules and changes at Miami Dade College. Especially with Financial Aid. Many people tend to forget that just because you are receiving money that does not need to be paid back, does NOT mean that you should go on a Financial Aid SHOPPING SPREE!
7.) Make sure that you REGISTER FOR CLASSES IN ADVANCE! Seats tend to fill up very quickly during peak registration times.
8.) If anything, always know that there are tutoring centers to help you.
9.) Have fun at Miami Dade College! The first two years are important.
Great for these types of students
Miami Dade College is great for these types of students:
1.)Students who want to transfer to a particular college.
2.)Students who want to stay closer to home.
3.)Students who want a quality education for a good value.
4.)Students who want to go into the Honors program at Miami Dade College.
5.) Students who want to experience new things while in college.
6.) Students who truly exemplify Miami Dade College's motto of Opportunity does changes everything

Did learn a lot
Miami-Dade is a great school to bridge the transition between High School and College for those who aren't sure what to do next or those who would like some more time to boost their academics. However it is at a fundamental level in it's academics and does not provide a very challenging environment due to the wide range of individuals at the school and the necessity to teach to the lowest common denominator.
Did enjoy being here
It was surely a nice experience as far as a college close to home goes, but since this is a commuter college and most of the people there are busy with their lives, jobs and classes it is not much of a social experience. If you like going to class and then straight home this is the college for you, but if you are like me and need a social environment as well as an academic one this college is not the best choice.
Bang for the buck
Even with the social and academic gaps that this school has, it is extremely cheap since tuition is inexpensive and there is no room and board since it is a local college. Also a lot of the classes don't really require that you buy a book or have books under the $100 range which ads to it's affordability.
Tips for prospective students
-If you are a social person planning to go to this school make sure you have friends from High School living in Miami.
-If you are someone who needs to be academically challenged make sure you apply for the honors college and take high level classes or otherwise you'll find yourself bored in class.
Take advantage of the low tuition cost to take the classes that would be more expensive after you transfer out.
-Finally MDC takes a lot of your AP classes so make sure you take the tests even if you think you will only get a 3.
Great for these types of students
Great if you are a low income student who needs more time figuring out what you want to do but don't want to take time off of school. Also great for students who have jobs or other responsibilities in Miami and have little time to study.
