Tuition, Cost & Aid

Affordability and Cost

Average Net Price Average net price for full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates paying the in-state or in-district tuition rate who were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state or local governments, or the institution. Other sources of grant aid are excluded. Aid awarded anytime during the full aid year is included.

Average net price is generated by subtracting the average amount of federal, state or local government, or institutional grant and scholarship aid from the total cost of attendance. Total cost of attendance is the sum of published tuition and required fees (lower of in-district or in-state), books and supplies and the weighted average room and board and other expenses.

Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

What Students Are Saying

I would give this 10 stars if I could! The prices at Macon State couldn't be better! It was a no-brainer while I was researching schools. I can attend Macon State for a fraction of the price of nearby Mercer University. And the amazing thing is - you can't tell it's a cheap school! Your education doesn't suffer!
Chloe from Macon, GA
The tuition is great here. The financial aid can help you with any problems you may have. Emergency loans are given if you do not have the money right away.

Macon State is no doubt the cheapest college in the state of Georgia. Financial Aid is very helpful as well. What I thought that I was going to end up paying is 3x as smaller as I'm about to pay for now. I'm so glad that I am going here.
Jasmine from Mansfield, GA
Macon State is very affordable, and you feel like you're getting the good education you're paying for. It's not an easy school, and I like that I'm paying less but still getting challenged in my classes.
