With campus sharing a block with the Minneapolis Institute of Art, the Minneapolis College of Art and Design is a private 4-year art school. MCAD confers undergraduate degrees in 14 art and design-related majors and is one of the few art institutions in the nation to offer a major in Comic Art. In addition to classroom space, MCAD is home to a 3D shop and printmaking studio. Furthermore, MCAD oversees Gallery 148, a student-run art gallery that provides real world experience in curating and installing a show.
